Hey, sorry I've been absent from this fandom for so long! D: I really have no excuse, haha. I'll try to be sure to crank out the last 8 parts of Angie, Can't We Just Find a Way? (if anyone still reads that story XD) soon! Also, there is a good chance that Misery Business has died. :O Sorry!

This is a oneshot (actually more of a drabble) I wrote for mrsharryjamespotter's 'Song Prompt Challenge'. :D

Song: "Steady as She Goes" - Sky Sailing.
Pairing: Fred/Angelina (my faaavorite, hahaha)
Set:
Order of the Phoenix. Hopefully that'll make sense. XD

"I can feel her,
As I lie awake,
But she's back home,
Still waiting alone,
When the morning breaks."
-
Steady as She Goes; Sky Sailing

Steady as She Goes.

Fred leaned back, resting his head against the palms of his hands, looking up at the stars. George was already asleep in the tiny tent they had set up a few hours ago, but Fred just couldn't calm his mind enough to sleep. Today had been one insane day. They had completely defied Umbridge, flew out on their broomsticks, and finally escaped the confinement of education. He smiled to himself, recalling the feeling of pure freedom he had felt as he shot up into the air, on the tail of his brother.

He also remembered how fast that feeling had faded when he had finally found Angelina in the crowd, her eyes cast downward. He had contemplated swooping back and hauling her onto his broom, but he knew that she wouldn't want that, not really. She, after all, had always been committed to her education, and she still (maybe) had the Quidditch team to keep track of as well.

She lifted her head and gave him a slight smile. She noticed his hesitation, and mouthed, "GO!" He winked at her, knowing that she would be okay. She wasn't made of glass, anyhow. She was headstrong and tough, his Angelina. So with one final look in her direction, trying to convey the feelings of sadness, freedom, and complete love he felt in that moment, he flew off, into the blazing sun that shone over the Hogwarts grounds.

He gazed up at the stars, wondering what she was doing right now. He wondered if she already missed him as much as he missed her. He knew he had done the right thing, but he still couldn't help but wonder if she were awake right now, staring at the same stars and thinking of him, wondering where he was. (And the answer to that question would be a forest about 50 miles south of Hogwarts. They figured it wasn't safe to go home yet, because who was to say that Umbridge wouldn't have them shipped back? Plus, Molly would be furious, despite the fact that they had escaped the wrath of a lunatic.)

Gazing up at the white lights, he knew everything would be fine. He'd see Angelina soon enough, and, until then, he would keep her on his mind and see her in his dreams. For now, it would be enough.

He grinned, shutting his eyes and succumbing to sleep.

Thank you so much for reading, and don't forget to review! (:
