"It's a beautiful night."

Hisoka looked up at Muraki, surprised by the sudden comment. They had been sitting in silence for several minutes. The empath looked out the window of Muraki's apartment and took a sip of wine.

"Yeah it is."

After that the two feel back into the silence that had been plaguing them a minute ago. Neither could tell if the silence was uneasy or not.

Hisoka sighed and gulped down the rest of his wine. He had come to the conclusion that the silence was uncomfortable and he didn't like it.

It had been a week since the two first became lovers. No one else knew, of course. Hisoka wasn't ready to tell his friends yet.

He doubted he would ever be ready to tell his friends.

They would hate him if they found out. They would think he betrayed them, especially Tsuzuki. After everything Muraki had put him through he would never forgive him.

Hisoka was startled from his thoughts when a hand was placed on his. He looked up and saw Muraki looking at him worriedly.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I'm fine, just thinking."

Muraki didn't ask what he was thinking about, but Hisoka figured he knew anyway. Muraki stood up and pulled Hisoka up into his arms.

"Everything's going to be ok, we're going to be ok," Muraki murmured.

Hisoka wished he could believe him.

Later that night Muraki lay in bed thinking. He was worried, even if he wouldn't admit it. He wasn't worried about himself though, he was worried about Hisoka. Muraki looked down at the small form in his arms and sighed.

Hisoka, guardian of death or not, was an innocent and fragile person. If his friends hated him he wouldn't be able to handle it.

"Everything is going to be ok, we're going to be ok."

Muraki wished he could believe himself.
