"Aeris, what are you doing?" Cloud asked, watching the flower girl dart between shop windows, peering in for a second before disappearing again.

"Looking for Christmas presents," she replied without looking at him. Cloud rubbed his temple. He didn't just hear what he thought he heard did he?

"It's a little early…late…for Christmas presents isn't it?"

Aeris shook her head and rushed past him again, pressing her hands against the glass to get a better look.

"It's never too early or late to prepare for Christmas Cloud. Besides, we hardly got a chance to celebrate it did we? We should have our celebration now!"

"In March?" asked Cloud, raising a brow. Aeris didn't answer. Instead, she disappeared into a shop. Cloud sighed. He couldn't believe this. When he had split the teams and chosen Aeris, it was for the reason that she wouldn't get distracted. Or so he thought. There were other reasons too but he didn't want to think about them now. There was no point in distracting himself.

He went and sat on a wall and waited for Aeris, who appeared moments later clasping a brown paper bag delicately in her hands. She smiled when she saw him, bounding happily over.

"I got Yuffie Red and Tifa their presents," she said cheerfully. Cloud nodded and stood up. He was about to gesture that they should head back to the hotel because the others would be waiting. However, he hadn't expected Aeris to link arms with him and give him a wide grin.

"Ready to go Cloud?" she asked playfully. Cloud blushed despite his efforts not to and felt it darken when Aeris giggled. She tugged at his arm gently and Cloud walked after her. They both knew she didn't have to convince him to do anything. He would always do anything for her.
