The world was spinning. Substance was absent, and there was nothing that could be defined as air present.

His body had convulsed upon his death, assuming the shape of a corpse. The green light had been painless, but it granted him knowledge; the painful knowledge that no wizard is immortal. The dark arts are only as dark as the blood that runs through their perpetrator. The concept of "gone" was all too tangible.

And then… there comes a point in one's realization of their demise when certain improbable instances become true and existent.

The scene was becoming a riddle. It was a mystery awaiting elucidation. All was not right, and all was not well.

It was not possible that the end of the road was here, at this point; a place that had always been a beginning point for Tom. Maybe it was not the same though. Where were the people, the trains, the dirt, and… the magic? It was as if all that had made it near discernable was dead and gone, not unlike the "Dark Lord" himself. This was, undeniably King's Cross.

Upon coming to the conclusion that he had "landed" within the realms of this otherworldly experience, Voldemort allowed himself the liberty of movement. Like a child taking a first step, he expended his seemingly bloodless limbs and propelled the shell of his body forward. It was not bad. He could still think; he could still see, and by the cold rush of the cement ground on his feet, he too could feel.

Like all situations that lie between magic, reality and the home of souls, it all soon collapsed. As the corpse merged on, he noticed a glint. The glint that emanated from only one place: half-moon spectacles. The lenses that belonged to Tom's former mentor and the one man that, deep down Tom knew cared and Tom himself remorsefully cared about.

Yes, it was Albus Dumbledore.

This conformation allowed Voldemort to test the usage of one more device.

"Oh shit," he remarked.

Yes, the Dark Lord could talk.
