"Jack!" Reid called nervously in the Virginia park. He looked around as fear started to settle in.
It wasn't supposed to be like this. Hotch needed someone to watch little Jack while he ran some long errands and everyone else was busy. Hoping to prove useful, Reid offered to take the small tike for a few hours. Spencer thought they would just go to the park. Play a couple games.
Little Jack loved the park, so it didn't seem like a big deal. Reid would watch Jack play on the monkey bars, swing on a swing. No big deal. Then, Spencer got distracted by two guys playing a game of chess. He swore he only looked away for a couple seconds. It wasn't like Jack could get too far.
Spencer bit his lip. How could he lose Hotch's kid? Jack was the man's life and now the four-year-old was just gone. POOF! Hotch would never let him watch the boy again, which was a shame because he liked Jack.
"Jack!" Reid shouted louder.
Spencer felt a tug on his sweater vest and he jumped slightly before looking down. Jack Hotchner looked up at him with a large grin on his face. "Spencer," Jack started. "Can we get ice cream?" he asked. The boy pointed to a man pushed an ice cream cart through the park.
Spencer let out a sigh of relief. So he hadn't actually lost the small boy. "Yeah, let's get some ice cream."

Author's Note: So, this was my first flash fiction and I know it's not top notch, but I'd like to know what you think. I just wanted to write this little scene that popped up into my head. A friend also wanted something that would make her smile, and I hope this does just that.
Drop me a review telling me what you think of this little scene.
