Food

This is open to interpretation. The only requirement is that your 100-word drabble feature some reference to food or eating.

All day long, Alice Longbottom ate sweets and stared into space.

It was a restful routine, really. It was soft and safe and the people here were gentle.

She could vaguely feel that she had been more reckless before. But recklessness always brings pain in the end, like when you trip and fall during a little exploration.

Fred – Frank! – did this at the beginning. Now he was more quiet, like her.

The beginning. What was it, again? It felt so far away.
