The first time Remus realised he might be attracted to boys, was when the Veela girl visited Hogwarts. It was a friendly Quidditch game between Hogwarts and Beauxbatons, and, of course, it quickly turned nasty when the teams were heard badmouthing one another in the Great Hall.

Remus was trying to reason with Sirius and James, who were all for 'beating up those poofs', when suddenly their faces went slack, their eyes zooming in on one spot, near the entrance of the Hall. Looking around him, Remus realised that most of the boys, and even one or two of the girls, were following a beautiful girl, who had just entered the hall, slavishly around with their eyes.

Remus was confused for a second, wondering what had got them all so enraptured, as all-though she was beautiful, he didn't think she warranted such a strong reaction, until a girl sitting in front of him sneered and said disdainfully, "Bloody Veelas, they think they can charm anyone with their allure. Well, they can think again."

Grabbing the boy sitting next to her, whom Remus assumed was her boyfriend, she tugged him after her, not listening to his protests. Remus was confused, why were all the boys acting like adoring slaves except for him? Looking around, he realised that the only boys who looked unaffected, were the ones who were self-proclaimed 'poofs'.

Swallowing nervously, and wondering what that said about him, Remus grabbed James and Sirius' arms, dragging them out of the Great Hall and up to the dormitories, desperately trying not to think of all the times in past year when he had realised that Sirius' bum was very fit, or that James had very nice stomach muscles.

After all, he couldn't be gay, as that would mean that all the weird feelings he's been having toward Sirius actually, meant something.

And that couldn't be true, couldn't, 'cause he knew that Sirius didn't swing that way, and that he'd only be breaking his own heart.
