Case of Deja Vu

Disclaimer: I know for sure that I don't own Back to the Future, and not you, nor anybody else on this planet is gonna make me change my mind!

This is just a little something that popped into my head and I just had to write it down.

Loud noises could be heard from the garage of the McFly home. Apparently, Marty and his band were practicing in there. Lorraine sighed. "I'm going to have to tell them to be a bit quieter."

"You do that then," said George, who was watching a science fiction movie on television. An alien climbed out of a spaceship and George became excited and started doing that odd laugh that he does. "Look! Just look at that! Hahaaa!"

Lorraine, ignoring her husband, walked outside and headed for the garage. She could hear Marty inside it saying, "Hey, guys, what would the teachers say if I played this?" The sounds of his guitar could be heard all the way outside.

Lorraine opened up the garage door and was about to tell Marty and his friends to keep the noise down, but was silent as she stared at her son as he played the guitar. She thought she recognized that tune. Marty and his friends didn't seem to notice her at all, and she continued to stand there without saying a word.

Then Marty started to sing, and Lorraine suddenly felt as if she was going through deja vu. The song that Marty was singing was "Johnny B. Goode". Lorraine remembered another Marty of thirty years ago singing that exact same song. How strange.

She quickly ran out of the garage unnoticed and ran back into the house. "George!"

George was still sitting in front of the television, laughing hysterically at a commerical. "Hmm?"

"George, come here! You've got to see this!" She pulled her husband off of the couch and led him over to the garage window. They both looked into the window and were able to hear Marty as he continued to sing.

"Why does this all seem so familiar?" George muttered.

"You're thinking of Marty Klein," Lorraine replied. "Remember? Thirty years ago at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance? He had sung the same song that our Marty is singing right now."

"How strange," said George, with a stunned look on his face. "One Marty sings that song, and then another Marty sings it too. But there can't possibly be a connection. That's crazy!"

Marty finished singing but continued to play his guitar, really getting into the music. He played behind his back, leaped into the air several times, and got down on the floor and played. As they watched him, George and Lorraine became even more baffled. It was just like Marty Klein all over again.

"This is bizarre," said Lorraine. "Come on, George, let's go back to the house. We won't tell Marty we were watching him."

The two of them went back inside and sat down on the couch together, both of them silent. They were both trying to tell themselves that the odd coincidences between their son and Marty Klein meant absolutely nothing. But still, they wondered... Was it really just coincidence or something more? They would probably never know.

The end.
