Rain thundered against the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, splattering noisily against the windows and sending a cold draft throughout the halls of the castle.
A loud clap of thunder in the sky snapped Harry Potter out of his snooze, and he shook his head, adjusting his glasses before looking around his classroom. Professor Trelawney was still droning on about the moons of Saturn in her most mystical voice, however, not even today was earning her the attention of her usual audience, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil. Everyone in the class seemed to have nodded off without her knowing.
For the first time in his life, Harry was rather thankful for the suffocating heat of his divination classroom. October weather was usually much more pleasant, however, in the last week it had dropped like a stone. Students could be seen dressed in as many scarves, gloves, hats, and socks they could find as they made their way to their next class, shivering and huddling together for warmth to fend off the horrendous weather spread across the grounds of Hogwarts.
Harry turned to look at Ron but his best friend was out for the count, leaning on the desk as drool slipped from his mouth and quiet snores erupted from him every so often.
Harry shook his head tiredly before turning to look out the window, listening to the constant pitter patter of the rain splashing heavily against the glass, and watching the empty grounds, bored out of his mind. The warm air felt heavy and the strong smell of perfume was soon lulling Harry asleep, or at least he was starting to doze off again.
Just as his eyes were about to slide shut, a flash of lightning illuminated the school grounds and Harry's eyes snapped open once more. He blinked rapidly, peering out the window intently.
The grounds were empty.
Harry shook his head, he must have been dreaming. He could've sworn he'd seen a shadowed figure standing in the middle of the grounds, watching the school. Harry shook his head again to clear his thought, however, something didn't feel right.
The room was silent.
Harry turned to Professor Trelawney but he froze at the sight of her. She was as stiff as a board, her eyes wide and her breathing coming out in rasps.
"The Servant shall return..." She rasped, "to claim his rightful glory... the Son of Magic shall return... to unleash the reigns of magic... and the King shall return to his people..."
"W - what?" Harry stammered, and Professor Trelawney snapped out of her trance-like state.
"When Saturn crosses with Jupiter, my dear, it means that -" Trelawney continued as though she hadn't stopped, however, Harry interrupted her.
"No, not the planets, the servant and - and the son - the king! Returning to his people and to claim his rightful glory and to - to unleash the reigns of magic!" Harry stammered, sounding as confused - and as shocked - as he felt.
"Sorry, my dear, I don't know what you're talking about." Trelawney replied, genuinely confused.
Harry was about to reply when another clap of thunder erupted from the sky, followed by a flash of lightning, startling most of Harry's classmates awake.
"Now, as I was saying, my dears," Trelawney continued, "when Saturn crosses with Jupiter..." She dragged on until the class was over, however, Harry continued to stare out the window, confused.
Had he dreamed it?
While Harry continued to ponder the strange events, the rain continued to thunder down on the school and Trelawney drawled on about planets, somewhere, deep within the bowels of Hogwarts, the very essence of Magic cried out.
The Heir of Magic had finally risen.
