Re-writing the story a bit (actually a lot) because I realized that I could make it better. I am going to try and follow the dreamworks plot as best as I can, so bear with me please? I appreciate all of your love and support. ~ Imagineer

Chapter One: (A month before the 1st movie plot)

Magnolia's POV

No family, no friends, or pets for that matter. I have no enemies, for no person pays me any mind when I pass them on land, or on the seas. My ship is small, and carries very little, but she has remained sturdy against the many storms that have crossed our path in these past two years. Over these past two years I have seen many different places, things, and the strangest of creatures; of course I met all kinds of people: the good, the bad, the deranged, the handsome, the wise, and the ugly.

Yet my interest was consumed by the dragons that I had encountered (a Scaldron, as I had been told) while traveling; I wanted to learn more about these magnificent creatures so I began asking questions until I found someone, a man, who was able to give me some answers. He told me that, if wanted to find more dragons, I should sail to an island in an archipelago called Berk.

I was a day's journey away from my destination when a storm began to roar and boom around my little ship, the storm was one of the worst storms that I have experienced; the waves, like giants, rose from the sea, and charged at my ship like an elephant; I fought as best as I could, but I wasn't strong enough this time, and neither was my ship. I was hit in the head by some debris as the ship was smashed into pieces by the largest of waves. I don't know what happened after, but all I could think of, as the ship broke apart, was how I didn't want to die; not yet, anyway.

Narrative POV

The Seashocker, that had been following her ship for the past month, pushed the girl's head above the surface using one head while the other head of the dragon lifted her legs; then dragon then rose from the waves, and flew out of the storms way to the island of Berk. Once close enough the dragon returned to the sea to remain hidden from any Viking that might come by, and swam as close as they could to the shallows without beaching themselves, and pushed the unconscious girl's body onto the beach. When they were sure that the body would not return to the sea the Seashocker retreated back to its home in the depths of the ocean.

Gobber went down the beach an hour before dawn to watch the sunrise, as he looked out on the horizon he thanked Odin that the storm had passed over Berk the damage that it would have made would have been a pain, especially since they had just repaired the village from the dragon attack a month prior.

As the sun rose on the horizon Gobber stood in awe of the many colors of the sky. His moment of tranquility was extinguished when he saw something out of the corner of his eye; there was a body on the beach.

"Must be a casualty of that storm." He thought as he began to walk towards what he thought was a corpse that would need a proper Viking funeral.

Yet, as he came closer to the body he saw the torso rise and fall like the waves of the sea. The body was not a corpse, but a survivor, Gobber quickly knelt beside the body, and turned the body over to discover that the survivor was a young girl, no older than fifteen. Her vibrant ginger hair was darkened, and lifted by the tide as it receded back to the ocean, her clothes we torn in different places, and her lips were slightly blue around the edges.

"It's a miracle that you're even breathing." Gobber mutter, and quelled his panic long enough to gather the girl's body into his arms and hobble as fast as he could to the village to find Stoick.

Magnolia POV

My head ached, I thought that I was dead? No, I was sure that I was dead, but I wasn't cold anymore, I felt warm, and I could feel someone pressing a damp cloth to my head. How could I not be dead? I opened my eyes, my vision was blurred, but my hearing was just fine.

"Any changes Gothi?" a deep voice softly rung out in the silence of the room. Gothi did not to speak, but instead used some sort of object to scratch her answer on the floor boards, from what I could hear.

"None so far, but she is sure that the young lass will pull through." another voiced Gothi's answer, this voice was rough, and yet kind-hearted. The man who spoke before sighed and then walked out of the room. It was then that I decided to speak up.

Narrative POV

"M-may I… May I have some water?" Magnolia's voice cracked as she blinked rapidly to get rid of her blurred vision. Stoick, stood outside of the door, when he heard her speak he re-entered the room to see Gothi helping the girl sit up, and Gobber hand the cup of water to the girl.

"Thank you." Magnolia nodded breathlessly to the man with one hand, and the very long blonde mustache. Gothi checked over the girl's neck and back, but found nothing.

While she examined each of them and their features, they in turn examined her. Her hair, now dry, was far fierier, and vibrant, than Stoick's and her eyes were a deep turquoise, which was an anomaly all on its own, the people of Berk had never seen eyes like hers before. They stood there, staring at Magnolia, shocked. Finally, after a few moments Magnolia regained enough energy to speak again.

"Where am I?" The adults looked at each other before Stoick cleared his throat to answer her question, but Gobber was faster.

"You are on Berk. This is Gothi, and I am Gobber." He chuckled at Stoick's stern expression, and rolled his eyes.

"And this is Stoick the Vast, proud Chieftain of Berk." Gobber gestured to his friend.

"I'm on Berk? How?" the young girl asked, looking at each of the adults.

"You tell us. We found you washed up on the beach, I thought you were a corpse at first." Gobber spoke. The young girl's brow creased as she recollected her memories of the storm, which she then explained to the Vikings before her.

"The last thing that I remember is the pain in my eyes from all of the sea water before some debris hit my head. Anything that happened after that is a mystery, even to me." She rubbed her face, but flinched as she found that doing so irritated the wound on the left side of her head. Bring her hand down, she looked to see a small amount of blood on her fingers; reaching up to touch the wound again her hand was smacked away by Gothi's staff.

"Gothi says that the wound on your head will only leave a small scar, but the debris that hit you didn't crack your skull; the same goes for your legs. Although, the damaged skin on your neck, and the back of your legs will remain only slightly discolored once they're healed. In the meantime, don't irritate your wounds." Gobber explained.

"When you've regained your strength, we'll show you around the island, but for now we'll leave you to get some rest." Stoick nodded to Gobber and Gothi, and then let them leave the room. Before he left the room the young girl grabbed his hand. Her strength surprised him, he looked down at her to see her gesturing to the mug of water on the bedside tabled, and then gestured to her throat; she looked as though she needed to say something before he left.

Stoick handed her the mug, but then took it back to help her drink when he saw that her hands were shaking. Once he set the mug back onto the table she grabbed his hand again.

"Please, don't leave me just yet. I have so many questions to ask you." She quietly pleaded, for it hurt her throat to talk.

"What's your name, lass?" He asked, and grabbed the stool that Gobber had been sitting on previously.

"I have no name, but the people who raised me called me Magnolia, for that is the tree that they found me under when I was a babe. They said that my mother may have been a prostitute, and left me under that tree to die, but I'm not so sure. I am not particularly fond of the name, but I have no other." She answered.

"How long have you been traveling alone?" He looked at her with curiosity blazing in his eyes.

"I left my home, in the Caribbean, when I was twelve. I was just as alone then as I am now; I left in the hope of finding my family, but then I began to discover new places, and people, that I forgot all about my mission to find my family. I wanted to explore the world, and I did."

"How old are you?" Stoick asked. This girl looked as though she was the same age as his son, Hiccup.

"I've been fifteen years old since yesterday. I was just about to celebrate when the storm rolled in." She chuckled. "May I ask you my questions, sir?"

"Yes, of course, ask away." She was about a month younger than his son. Maybe, Stoick thought, Hiccup could learn a few things from her, and improve himself.

"Where are the dragons?"

"Why would you want to know about that? They're dangerous creatures, and we barely know enough about them to fight them off!" He could not believe this girl, was she trying to get herself killed?

"Exactly, I wish to know more about them. I would like to know where they are so that I might study them. I've encountered a few here and there during my travels, and they seem so interesting. Someone told me that this area was a hot spot for dragon activity. That's why I'm here." As she explained her eyes shone brighter than the stars themselves; her eagerness to know more about the dragons of Berk gave the Chieftain an idea.

"You can learn about what we know about dragons with the other students once your well enough to fight; training won't begin for another month, so in the meantime, you can get to know your fellow students, and the rest of the Vikings of Berk." As Stoick said this he could see Magnolia thinking over his words, and nodding.

"Perfect, but while I'm here I do not wished to be addressed as Magnolia. I wish to be called Mage." She finally let go of Stoick's hand, and he took that as his cue to leave.

"Very well. Gothi will be back to check on you when you wake… Welcome to Berk, Mage." With that said he left the Healer's hut.

Mage fell asleep as soon as he left, and dreamed of dragons.

Stopping there, thank you all for rejoining me on this adventure. I hope it ends well.
