Disclaimer: Unfortunately, my amazingly brilliant mind did not come up with any of the characters in this chapter (though it should have).
Yello. So this is my first fanfic. This is definitely not my best work but I don't think it is too bad. After the Gift of the Night Fury, so it will contain some spoilers. So, here it is...
Believe
"Alright, remember, don't crash," Little Dreamcatcher fell to the ground. Stormfly's hatchling looked so much like Stormfly, except for flying. The rest of Dreamcatcher's siblings were off flying all over Berk. Dreamcatcher's head bumped against Astrid's leg. "Let's try again," Astrid cooed to the little nadder. Again Dreamcatcher tried, and failed. "Tomorrows a new day for flying practice." Dreamcatcher ran towards Stormfly.
"What can I do? I feel like I am failing Dreamcatcher," Astrid told Hiccup that night.
"No, there is nothing you can do. Dreamcatcher has to learn this on her own," he replied.
"What kind of advice is that? I'm trying to help Dreamcatcher and you are telling me this? Who do you think you are an expert dragon trainer?" Astrid stormed off, fuming about what Hiccup had said. Astrid knew what she had to do, but how?
The meadow was bright that morning. Astrid knew that today was the day. After a week of failure, Dreamcatcher would fly.
"Need some help?" Astrid eyes widened as she heard that voice. She still hadn't forgiven Hiccup for his comment.
"No, I don't," she retorted.
"Sure looks like you do," Astrid hated to admit defeat, but what could she do?
"Here," Hiccup reached his hand into his vest and pulled out a fish.
"What's that for?" Astrid questioned. Hiccup lifted his finger onto his lips. He then waved the fish in front of Dreamcatcher. Dreamcatcher tried to bite on, but Hiccup lifted the fish high above his head. Dreamcatcher jumped, but she obviously couldn't reach the fish. She ran off and spread out her wings, determined to eat the fish. She ran and... fell. Dreamcatcher was determined and she tried again, after 10 tries she only got up 1 foot in the air. Dreamcatcher tried for the eleventh time, her wings were extended and her feet fell lightly on the ground. She jumped, determined this would be the time. Her feet left the ground and she soared. The fish was finally hers!
"See," Hiccup had a smug look on his face. "Ow!" Astrid's hand connected with his arm. Astrid stepped forward and planted a kiss on Hiccup's lips. The two embraced for what seemed like forever. It would have gone on longer but Dreamcatcher had flown in between them. Hiccup and Astrid both laughed and held hands as the sun slowly set.
So, how is it? Short, but hey what can you expect? I hope the romance wasn't cheesy, I can't write romance.
TTFN,
Awesome
