Darkness.
It was his own mind, to be sure, but it was dark. The ground was dark, the sky was dark, and the plants lurking there were dark. There were odd little noises Raz couldn't identify. He knew he never should have gone this deep into his own mind without Sasha there to guide him. But Raz wanted to figure out more about his own mind. Yet despite his perky nature, Raz's mind had lots of darkness in it.
Darkness, that, as it turned out, hid censors until they were all around him. His health was low, and he had no Dream Fluffs with him. Raz hated to admit it, but he felt rather doomed. If he got booted back to the real world, he'd lose so much progress. But to stay here, where everything was hidden and foggy, where anything could happen – it was a terrifying insanity. Raz felt, for the first time in his own mind, scared.
Still he ventured on, bravely. He tripped and he shot at anything that moved and he was well aware that his behavior was uncool in every sense of the word, but he kept going. It got darker and darker. Raz realized with a new surge of panic that he'd lost the smelling salts somewhere. He was alone in a pitch black world.
Then his levitation ball appeared.
Instantly, the white light that flooded the area soothed his nerves. Light. Light had always been a symbol of hope. With light, he could find his way. The orb spiked and glowed as he moved, more freely now. The panic vanished. Raz smiled to himself; he was gonna be okay. The levitation ball was more than just a power and a light, after all.
It was comfort.
