A/N – Attempting a WIP, it might not be pretty. Warning, this is ROB/RAE!!!! If you don't like don't read. Simple as that. But if you do like, REVIEW!!!! Oh, I don't have a beta, though if you want to volunteer….

Prologue – Seven Years Ago

Titans Tower – 11:41 pm, December 2006

Robin tossed the black rose over the edge of the T-Tower, and watched it fall down, twirling through the air, like a dark dancer. He watched it, until it hit the waves below, sinking into the obsidian water. He sighed, rubbing the side of his face with a gloved hand.

Why?

That was what he wanted the answer to. Why did she leave? And without saying goodbye nonetheless. The others wanted to know where, where was she? But he knew better, if Raven Roth didn't want to be found, she wasn't going to be. And God help anyone who tried. But…she didn't even say goodbye to him! She hadn't even left a note, just a flower. A black rose, like the one that he had given her for there anniversary. But the ones that he had given her were real. The one that he had thrown in the ocean, the one that she had given him, was fake. Well crafted, made of glass, and obviously old, and incredibly deer to her, but fake.

How could the love be real when the flowers aren't?

Cairo Egypt, 3:19 am, December 2006

She knew that what she was doing was wrong, to leave with no explanation, no warning. No, it wasn't wrong. It was unfair. Unfair to Cyborg, who considered her a little sister, unfair to Beast Boy, who she really did find funny, and unfair to Starfire, who accepted her no matter what. They all did. The stood by her at the end of the world, what better friends could she ask for?

But it was most unfair to Robin. He deserved to know. But he would have abandoned her, right? The child that she was now carrying was evil, the grandchild of Trigon the Terrible, child of a portal used to ring the end of the world. She knew that she would love their daughter, for she knew it was a girl. But he was human, and he was weak. He might have pretended that he wanted it, loved it, but really, how could he? How could he love her?

Raven hugged her sweater tighter to her slim body, which was not yet starting to show with the life growing inside her. All she had left him was a flower. A black rose. A fake black rose. What was she thinking? He would never accept that. After all, hadn't she been the one to say, how can the love be real, when the flowers aren't?

A/N – Short, I know, but it was a prologue, it's meant to be short. Thank you so much for reading! Pretty Please Review? It's my birthday soon…

Please tell me what you thought of this, be mean if you have to, but it's my first attempt at a WIP, and I need all the help I can get, I can't write for beans. Anyways I heard the quote (how can the love be real when the flowers aren't) on CSI, it was said by Sara Sidle, season 6, episode Rashomama. It's a really great episode; I suggest you check it out!
