The spot on her cheek was still warm.

It had been several hours and the part of her cheek that Jack had laid his lips on for just a very brief moment still burned.

She wished it would stop already. It was starting to stress her out. Liz was supposed to be more concerned with where her husband (her husband) had kissed her.

But as it always goes, her life can't be that simple. She has to deal with feelings about her boss after she gets married, because that's just her luck.

Liz couldn't help but notice how weird Jack had been acting during and after the wedding. Not to mention how much he wanted her wedding to be as perfect as possible (even if he didn't entirely approve). Jack was the one who had know first that Liz deserved to have a real wedding, or at least feel like a princess. Liz was starting to worry that maybe he had feelings for her after all. Though, maybe he was just being a really good friend. That's what best friends do for each other, right?

But, a second kiss between them, though. Well, sorta. It was only on the cheek, like friends do. Not lovers. Not people who might be attracted to each other. It was simply the polite thing to do! Why was it driving her absolutely insane then?

Maybe because she wanted a real kiss between them. Not one in front of the entire world, and certainly not one that took place after her getting married to another man. She couldn't help but draw parallels to this dilema and the traditional RomCom plot line: Best friends go through a series of small, character-building romantic adventures with other people until they realize that all along they were meant to be. Everything they had gone through since they had met was basically the set up of a classic will-they-won't-they.

But this is real life. Not some silly story, and they're not characters in some stupid romantic comedy. They were Jack and Liz and they were never going to end up together.

She's just not too sure how she really feels about that.
