Riding on horseback, a young couple made their way across Hyrule Field. The woman, carrying their three week old son in her arms, looked at her beau with a worried expression on her face : « - What will we do? We're not even married yet! If we return home with a baby, we could be exiled. You won't be able to become a knight. How will we have money? A-and besides, I'm not ready to become a mother. »

He glanced back at her : « - I know, love. » He was distracted by thoughts of his own : «- We could say that we found him during our trip…

- It wouldn't work. He looks just like you. »

They remained silent for a while. The woman looked into her beau's eyes, he had an idea. He urged the steed to make a 180, then brought the horse into a gallop. Though intrigued, she decided to trust his instincts for now.

A few hours later, they had made their way to the desert. Zeruda, figuring out his plan, protested : « - But Rinkù, the Gerudo, they…

- I know. They are a clan of dangerous thieves and they tried to bring destruction upon Hyrule... I've met some Gerudo before, they aren't heartless. I firmly believe that they are simply misjudged because of their ancestors. And besides, what other choice do we have? Like you said before, we'll be exiled as soon as we get to town. How would we provide for him then? His life would be one of misery. »

After a few moments of consideration, she handed him the small bundle. He walked across a wooden bridge and stopped in front of a small house. He looked down, already regretting what he was about to do : « - I'm sorry. I wish things could be different. Perhaps in another world, this could have worked out. I love you, Link. »

And the baby wailed. Alot. The man placed the bundle on the ground and raced across the bridge once more.

Ganondorf, the young king of the Gerudo clan, was reading old Hyrulean legends when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He assumed it was one of his guards until he heard a man's voice. There was only one male around here, and that would be him. He listened curiously. Through his window, he saw a young Hylian with a baby in his arms : « ...be different. I love you, Link. »

The baby wailed, the man ran off. Ganondorf quickly went downstairs and opened the door. The baby quieted at the sight of Ganondorf, who picked him up.

« - Link, huh? », Ganondorf said as he looked into the baby's deep, sky-blue eyes. It was almost as if he could see his soul through those eyes. The baby smiled, instantly warming his heart : « - Don't worry kid. I'll take care of you.» he said, walking back into his home.
