You broke it.
Summary: 'You broke it! It's your entire fault! You let it happen; you can't blame anyone else…especially not your brother, Edward.' She said it without a second thought and now he understood; he did break it.
"Edward!"
He heard his name being called but he didn't care he just wanted one thing done at the moment.
And it was to kill the almost tore apart piece of metal in front of him.
And he didn't care…
Even if it was his brother in front of him.
"Edward!"
She called again, now with tears in her eyes but he can't stop. He can't just discontinue and turn back like he did before. He just had to finish it, even if its goanna haunt him for the rest of his life.
With another slash Al defended himself once more, gashes all over his metallic body. After a few more hits, his arm slowly loosened without him noticing and with one last hit it fell to the grand along with his now weak metal suit.
"Edward!"
She shouted for the last time, tears now straining her beautiful features. She shouted his name once more, just waiting for him to stop like he always did but now, there was no way. She saw it in his eyes, he won't stop, he just can't.
After a few minutes, Ed's sword was just a few more inches away from Al's transmutation symbol which binds his soul to the armor. He knew his hand was shaking but he had to it was a matter of principle.
"Brother?"
His small voice rang through his ears as clear as the now night sky. He was trembling he felt it from his feet.
"Brother?"
He asked once more. He took in another breath, stared at his younger brother. It was his fault he was like this but he refused to believe it.
"I'm sorry Al."
He said for the last time and got off the larger figure below him. And again he ignored their calls and continued to walk away until she spoke.
"Edward Elric!"
He was forced to stop, he can't move…her voice lacing his every thought.
"How could you do this to your own brother? It wasn't his fault!" She reasoned still crying.
He dared not budge, taking in all the words she just said.
"Brother, it wasn't our choice…I can't help it but if you really love Winry than I'll give up." Al retorted.
Ed just started walking away once more.
"No Al, you keep her as you said it wasn't our choice so I can't do anything else." He stated without turning back.
"You idiot! You were just too blind and then started to mercilessly beat your brother up and now your leaving! See Edward why in hell I made my choice, I chose him for this reason!" She screamed standing up from beside Al.
"I know." He said in a whisper.
"You broke what we had Ed and there's nothing you can do. You broke it! It's your entire fault! You let it happen; you can't blame anyone else…especially not your brother, Edward." She told him without a second thought.
She didn't know if this was right or wrong but what else can she do, she had already said it.
"Alright! I know!" He stated facing them with tears freely flowing down his face. He knew he looked stupid he didn't care because now he understood; he did break it.
"Goodbye." With that last word no more was said and he left their lives forever. He left something that he could've had if he chose to stay for it but he didn't.
Edward Elric left his brother's life.
He left the one girl he ever loved to love his brother.
And he just wished they would be happy even if now they wear these tears and frowns.
Cause without a second thought, she already said it.
He did broke it and now he undid it.
With nothing more but goodbye.
