Tobias POV
"Tobias, Wake up!" says a voice I thought I would never hear again. I open my eyes and there's Tris' beautiful grey-blue eyes staring down at me.
"Tris," I breathe. I pull her down to me. I wrap my arms around her. She tries to wrap her arms around me, but I'm laying down. So I sit up. She wraps her legs around my waist hesitantly. I just hold her close and cry onto her hair.
"It was just a dream, Tobias," she says softly, "Just a dream."
"I was so real, It was so real," I sob.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asks me.
I slow my crying. "We were trying to stop the bureau from resetting the memory of our city," I say.
"We are in real life, too."
"Well, then I was going to the city to inoculate Zeke and his mom. You stayed here with Caleb, because he was going to the weapons lab. You wanted some time with him. When we came back Cara said that you went into the weapons lab instead of Caleb," I cant go on, I cry.
She whispers soothing words. "You . . . You didn't . . . You didn't make it," I say as tears pour out of my eyes.
"It's okay, I'm here. I'm still here," she tells me.
I hold her close as my tears come to an end.
"Promise me, you won't go into the weapons lab!" I say with urgency in my voice.
"I promise," she looks into my eyes. I pull her in for a kiss. This one is for the many that I thought I would never get again.
