Bad Hair Day-Chapter 1: The Test
Author's Note: Here's chapter one of my new story. I want to thank Dixie Darlin for giving me this idea a while ago. Hope you enjoy it :)
It was a quiet day in Sugar Rush. After Mr. Litwak closed up early for the day, the racers didn't have much to do. The Random Roster Race was about it, but besides that, it was peaceful in Sugar Rush. The racers either left the game or stayed to talk to their friends.
Gloyd was at the racetrack with Rancis and Swizz, which was no surprise. The three guys of Sugar Rush were probably the closest of friends.
"Hey Rancis, what's new?" Gloyd casually asked.
"Nothing much." Rancis careless replied.
"Liar!" Gloyd shouted out, startling both Swizz and Rancis.
"What?" Rancis muttered confused. He didn't understand what Gloyd was talking about.
As if Gloyd could read Rancis's thought, he answered. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, Fluggerbutter. That you asked Vanellope out a couple days ago."
Rancis face turned bright red.
"Yeah. You know exactly what I'm talking about."
"It's...nothing like that..." Rancis stuttered out in defense.
"Come on dude, don't lie." Swizz added. "I think it's cool you two are a thing now and all."
"But, you just got to hope he doesn't cheat on her with his hair." Gloyd remarked back.
"I don't have affection towards my hair!" Rancis argued back.
"I heard one time, he accidentally fell into a pond of frosting, and he was so upset for a couple weeks!" Swizz whispered over to Gloyd.
"Hey! I was just upset because that frosting smelled horrible!"
"Really?" Gloyd questioned. "I mean I can at least think of a dozen other times where you cared more about your hair than anything else. You probably love your beautiful hair more than your own girlfriend."
"Take that back." Rancis angrily stated. "Swizz, you don't believe him do you?" He wondered. Gloyd had to be the only one who thought that.
"I'm sorry, but I do." Swizz honestly admitted.
"But, it's not true." Rancis argued back. "I don't love my hair that much."
"Okay, then. Prove that fact to us then." Gloyd interrogated.
"I will!" Rancis agreed. "Just when exactly?"
Gloyd and Swizz exchanged looks and nodded.
"That's not for you to know. Let the prank-master decide that for himself."
Then, Gloyd left the racetrack.
"Hopefully, it won't be too bad of a time." Rancis worried.
Back with Gloyd, he met up with Taffyta and whispered his genius plan.
"So, can you do that?" Gloyd questioned. He needed Taffyta in order for this to work out.
"Yeah. It sounds pretty easy to me."
"Good." Gloyd smirked. "Rancis is going to prove himself wrong, that's for sure."
About roughly two hours later, Taffyta walked up to the racetrack, finding Rancis, Swizz and a couple of the others there.
With a lollipop in her mouth, she greeted the guys.
"Hello. What are you guys working on?"
"Nothing much. Just some upgrades to my kart." Rancis answered.
"Can I see some of them? I've been thinking about doing that myself, but I didn't know what to do."
"I guess." Rancis agreed as he moved out of the way so she could see. "I replaced some gears, changed the wheels and some other technical stuff."
Taffyta took the lollipop out of her mouth and looked at the upgraded kart.
"Wow this looks-" She started, before putting her lollipop next to Rancis beautiful hair.
"What the heck?" Rancis asked loudly as he reached for the sticky lollipop in his hair.
As soon as he felt the sucker in his hair, his eyes grew wide and anger filled him.
"Taffyta, why the fudging heck did you do that? I can't believe you did that!"
Rancis reached for the lollipop and tried to yank it out, only causing his hair to become even stickier.
"Now, I have to take three showers to get this out. Thank you very much." He sarcastically yelled.
But, Rancis was too busy yelling at Taffyta to notice Gloyd arrived at the scene.
"So what were you saying earlier?" Gloyd questioned Rancis.
Rancis stopped in place. He turned towards Gloyd and realized exactly what happened.
"It's not as it looks-"
"Oh, then what was that? I'm pretty sure it is exactly as it looks."
Rancis turned towards Taffyta.
"Did Gloyd set you up to this?"
"Yeah. He promised he would give me some more lollipops if I did for him. You should've seen your face." Taffyta clarified. It was true.
"Dude, you need help. You have some serious hair issues." Swizz commented.
"True. You do have some serious problems." Gloyd agreed. "That's why I'm here to help. Until you prove to me that you don't love your hair, you'll get some more bad hair days in the future."
"Don't you dare! This ends now!" Rancis threatened.
"Okay. Okay, whatever you say." Gloyd raised his hands up in defense.
"Now, I'm going to go wash my gorgeous luscious hair, if you excuse me." Rancis added as he left the racetrack upset.
Taffyta turned towards Gloyd.
"This isn't over yet, is it?"
"What do you think? He's still in love with his hair."
Later that day, Rancis rushed inside his house and made a beeline towards the bathroom. He had to the gross gunk out of his hair and quick.
As soon as he reached the bathroom, he grabbed his special bottle of out-of-game imported shampoo and poured a bunch of the thick liquid onto his hand.
He then started to douse his hair in the shampoo. Some dumb lollipop wasn't going to ruin his hair.
It was when he started to rinse his hair with water that he noticed something suspicious.
"What the fudge?" He wondered. His shampoo wasn't coming out of his hair like usual. Also, his hair felt ridiculously sticky.
He grabbed his bottle of shampoo and unscrewed the top off. Something just didn't seem right about this.
He dumped a huge amount of the 'shampoo' into his hand. The substance looked nothing like his expensive precious shampoo, it looked almost likeā¦
"Maple syrup." Rancis realized as he got a good whiff of the scent.
"GLOYD!" He screamed out in anger. He needed to pay for what he just did.
Back with Gloyd, he heard Rancis's scream and knew what must have happened.
"Got to go." Gloyd remarked as he started to run far away.
