Tamazuki of course had to disappear somewhere and tell no one where he went again. It was only natural for the Tanuki Youkai and he'd be gone for weeks but... To leave his dog? That's something he hasn't done before. So he must be coming right back! The dog is like the subordinates he had during his arc. Loyal and obedient. Reminded him of a certain dog youkai in particular but that's not the point.
Dassai, of course, knowing the small white canine well enough decided to look after it while Tamazuki was away. He wouldn't mind, right? He is the most truth worthy person he knows! Well, despite his drinking problem that he hates that is...
"Hmmm... This little guy doesn't even have a name as far as I'm concerned.. That and I'm not sure if he's eaten.. ...If only dogs could talk!" Dassai laughed to himself, drinking some of his sake. The white pup barked in response to "talk". Dassai took no mind to it and continued drinking.
The dog wagged its tail and pawed at Dassai's leg. He only glanced at the dog but continued to chug sake. The dog whined and sat down. Dassai set the jug down, completely empty now and raised an eyebrow at the dog. "What? Wonderin' where Tanuki *hic* is?" He asked, now drunk off his ass.
The dog whined again and tilted it's head. Dassai laughed. "Nah! You obviously just hungry is all!~" He grinned and crawled over to a small table containing a few rice balls and a bowl of dog food. Dassai picked up the rice balls and set it down in front of the dog who sniffed it and took a bite of it.
"Ya like it? Human food and shit." He grinned, completely ignoring the dog food. But then again, he's drunk, maybe he just didn't care for it. The dog hacked but licked the spot where the rice ball once was after eating it and licked its lips.
Dassai pet it's head and put another one down in front of it which the dog gladly ate, repeating the process of the first.
"Ahaha~ I was right! You were hungry!" He laughed. The dog curled up in a ball and closed its eyes, resulting in it trying to sleep. Dassai hummed slightly and plopped down. "Yeah... I think I'll join you in some sleep." He mumbled before going to sleep with the dog.
"Dassai!"
"DASSAI!"
Dassai's eyes shot open only to see an extremely pissed off Tamazuki surrounded by blinding light and a bad headache. "G-gnh... What is it, Tama?" He muttered, shutting his eyes which resulted in Tamazuki kicking his rib cage. "Get up!" He ordered.
Dassai groaned and sat up. "What? My heads killing me..."
"What did you do to my dog?! I'm sure you did something because only you'd be stupid enough to let it eat something bad for it!" The 'Young Tanuki Lord' crossed his arms. Dassai opened his eyes slightly and looked around only to see Tamazuki's dog shaking in a corner, vomiting the rice balls Dassai fed it while drunk.
What happened was vaguely familiar to him but all he said in response was "whoops..."
Tamazuki made a promise to himself to never leave his dog alone anymore even if for a minute.
