Breaking the Ice

"I SAID NO, ZU YUN!!!" The shout made the earth shake underneath the Shu Camp.

"Oh, come on, Shou Hai! Just this once! It's the celebration of Lord Guan Yu's Birthday!!" a very desperate Zu Yun begged.

"I don't care if the mighty Lu Bu Himself comes and commands me to! I won't tie my hair!!" Shou Hai yelled back.

Both girls were in a small dojo outside of the Shu camp. Zu Yun and Shou Hai were arguing between wearing this and that and what not.

"JUST TIE THAT HAIR!!!" Zu Yelled.

"I SAID NO!!!" Shou Hai yelled back.
"TIE IT!!"

"NO!!!"

"YES!!"

"NO!!!"
"YES!!"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Zu Yun then backed off.

"Ok, Ok! Don't tie your hair! Then what outfit are you going to wear??"

"Simple. I'm not going."

"But- But why, Shou?!"

"Just because, and it's none of your damn buisness!" Shou then walked out of the Dojo and into her little garden.

Zu Yun just sighed in defeat.

Shou was always stubborn, but she was loyal to Lord Liu Bei and his brothers.

Shou stared out at the distant sky. It was around 4 in the afternoon and the cherry-blossom tree was at it's peak of beauty. The rouge petals floated and danced in the warm wind.

Even though Shou had made an outburst about her hair and Lord Guan Yu's birthday, she did love Guan Yu, secretly. Sworn Brother of Lord Liu Bei and savior of Liu Bei's wives.

She blushed a bit. She always loved him. His courage, his strength, everything.

She held her emerald necklace that hung around her neck gently.

"Should I go?... or should I just stay here?..." Shou muttered silently.

It was finally 7 in the afternoon and a celebration was held for Guan Yu.

There was food and drink and entertainment provided by Zu Yun, Sun Shang Xiang, and Yue Ying. Zu Yun wore a red and green kimono with her hair up in one bun (unlike her usual hairstyle of two buns) with 2 red roses in her hair. Yue Ying had on a white and green kimono with her hair down and a white rose around her left wrist. Sun Shang Xiang wore a pink and red kimono with her hair down and a pink rose around her right wrist.

Zhang Fei tried to get his birthday brother to drink, but Guan Yu refused.

Suddenly, the tent of the party opened to reveal a stunning Shou Hai.

She wore a gold and green short sleeved kimono with a beautiful cherry-blossom behind her ear. Her hair, was of course, down. Her hair looked like fine black silk with eyes to match.

Guan Yu sat up instantly with wide eyes at the Frozen Phoenix.
She walked, head up, inside and sat down in an empty table. A woman server gave her a drink and a plate of food.

Zu, Sun, and Yue continued their dance. The men continued drinking. But Guan Yu couldn't peel his eyes off of Shou Hai.

He then silently got up, walked over to Shou, and asked her to go with him. They both walked and headed outside, into the heart of the Cherry-blossom forest. Guan Yu soon stopped.

"Yes, Lord Guan Yu?" Shou asked.

"... It's very hard to talk to someone, isn't it?" Guan Yu said.

Shou just nodded.

"Especially when the person you're talking to is someone you love, correct?"

Shou looked up in surprise. Was... was Guan Yu confessing??

Guan Yu turned to Shou with love filled eyes.

"The truth is... I have had feelings for you for a long time now, Shou."

"Lord Guan Yu..." Shou began, but Guan stopped her with a kiss.

"Don't say anymore." He said. Shou just nodded.

Underneath the largest cherry-blossom tree in the forest, they confessed their love and became one.
