The Loss of an Agent

"Attention all agents," Ms. O yelled. "We have an agent leaving today. There will be a retirement party for her in an hour, so start cleaning up and decorating!" Olympia raised her hand. "Yes Olympia?" "Who is retiring?" Ms. O had a shocked look on her face, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Oksana is leaving. She's getting too old for the job. We need to keep this kids organization, a kids organization. Well? What are you waiting for? GO!" All the agents rushed around Headquarters cleaning and decorating. Otis was a little disappointed. He wanted to get to know her better. Maybe even learn why she is so BLAH. For a time he had a small crush on her, but that changed fast. He just had this feeling she was hiding something from everyone. She never smiled, never laughed, never had much emotion. Otis sped walk to his partner, "Are you going to miss her?" Olympia looked at Otis with a confused face, "Well, I guess, but she never had much to say, and she was only a cook, which is not that important. All we need is a new cook. Why? Are you going to?" Honestly, Otis didn't know how to answer that. He didn't know if she was just wondering or if she thinks he likes her? He just told her what he thinks she wants to hear. "She was just a really good cook, I mean she cooks spaghetti like no one I know." "Ok," Olympia said awkwardly. "30 MINUTES TILL PARTY!" "We better get to work." "yeah, I'll work on the streamers and you continue sweeping." "Ok," Olympia smiled.

30 Minutes Later

Ms. O slid down her slide and spoke in a softer tone than usual, "Alright everyone, Oksana is getting ready to walk through the doors. This is a surprise retirement party, so hopefully we'll get at least some emotion from her. One more thing, don't all yell 'surprise,' be silent so she isn't overwhelmed. Ok. She's coming… now." Oksana walked through the doors with her suitcases and immediately dropped them. The look on her face was priceless. She was in shock. It look at least a few minutes to get a word from her. "I was just going to say goodbye to Ms. O and leave, But…" "We all care for you Oksana, you'll never be forgotten. No matter how emotionless you are, we cherish each and every one of our agents." Oksana's mouth dropped. Olympia was wowed by Ms. O's small speech. She had never heard her ever speak so inspiring, and when she does, its rare. Oksana looked as if she was going to break down and cry. She said, "I need to go, my parents are expecting me, but I'm sure I have time to say goodbye." She said goodbye to everyone but Otis now. She came up to him and wrapped her arms around him and gave him a big, long, friendly hug. Otis whispered, "I'll miss you." A tear rolled down her cheek. As the hug ended, Ms. O said with a cracked voice, "Time to go to the tube lobby." By the time all the main scientists, main agents, Ms. O, and even Olive, were in the tube lobby, everybody was crying. O'Donnell said softly, "Prepare to squishinate. Squishinating. Oksana was gone.
