(Inuyashas POV)

It was our first Christmas together. Kagome, me, and our newborn son Akihiko. I smiled as my mate brought our 8-month-old son to the main room. He was wearing the red outfit Kagome made for him.

I was surprised how much he looked like me. He had golden eyes like me, and his hair was silver, with streak of black, and his ears, while they were just like mine, also had a black strip down the middle.

Kagome looked up and smiled at me, beckoning me over to them. I sat down beside him and she handed Akihiko to me. I smiled down at my son, just as he opened his eyes, and smiled at me. I leaned down to nuzzle his cheek gently as I breathed in his scent.

As I held him, I thought of my first Christmas, such a long time ago.

(Flashback)

I was only 4 years old when we first celebrated Christmas. i was wandering the shiro alone, looking for a place to get away from the men that hated me, just because of what I was.

I walked into the main room to see a large tree in the middle of it. I walked closer and found a box with shiny round things. I picked up a couple of them and sniffed it.

It wasn't food, so I didn't try to eat it. I noticed that they had little plastic hooks on them, and I hung one on my ear, while grabbing another one.

That was when I smelled something minty, and found this candy that was on the tree. I took the candy, a hook-like shape with red and white stripes and stuck in it my mouth. It tasted good.

This is how my mother found me. She smiled lovingly at me, and took the round things from me. I watched her put them on the tree.

"What are they Mommy?" I asked her.

"These are called Christmas ornaments. You put them on a tree like this. And that candy you have in your mouth is called a candy cane."

"What is Christmas?" I asked my mother, and she explained it to me. Then I helped her decorate the tree, and snuggled into my mothers' arms.

(End flashback)

I smiled at the memory as I handed Akihiko to Kagome, and then pulled her into my lap. She snuggled into my arms, and turned her head to kiss me.

"Merry Christmas Inuyasha." She whispered.

"Merry Christmas Kagome." I replied as I looked down at her and our son.

Our first Christmas as a family.
