Discommunication
As children, they grew.
He would be reading on the Academy rooftop, and she would be spying on that pretty boy. Before long, she was sitting next to him, asking curious questions while the patient boy taught in his quiet voice.
As rivals, they competed.
She hated how perfect he was. Someday, she would excel in everything like he did, too.
And he waited, no matter how long, or how far apart they were, each time she tried to catch up to him.
As friends, they matured.
His smiles were rare, and usually have a hidden meaning. No one else could differentiate one smile from the other; it was something only she could do, because they were friends.
As teammates, they trusted.
Even though the prodigy probably didn't need the extra lookout, he knew that his back was safe with her around. And while he entrusted his back to her, she knew that her life was in good hands with him as her team leader.
As lovers, discommunication.
Maybe someday, she'll tell him.
Maybe someday, he'll say those magic words.
Maybe someday, they would wed, and then live together. Maybe, just maybe, they would have their own children, too.
Maybe someday…

A/N: This one turned out to be much, much shorter, and a little more complicated than I originally intended it to be. Anyway. This one shot is inspired by a Vocaloid song (Megurine Luka) titled Discommunication. There isn't a lot of link to the lyrics, but… I just wrote what I felt while I was listening to the song.
I wonder how many people can understand this… Regardless, I hope you liked it!
