On My Own

A/N: Okay, this is my second songfic ever and once again it feature Harry and Ginny. With the movie just out, I'm having trouble writing anything else. This is set to "On My Own" from the wonderful play Les Miserable.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of it's characters. Don't own the song "On My Own" either.

Ginny walked by the stream that flowed in the woods near her house. Everyone had long since gone to bed and the house was dark and quiet. Not being able to sleep, she had slipped away to come and walk here. This was her special place. Her thinking spot.
On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone I walk with him till morning
Without him I feel his arms around me
And when i loose my was i close my eyes
And he has found me
She walked through the darkness of the surrounding trees. The silver moonlight darting throught the treetops and shining down onto the stream. The stars were especially bright tonight. Fireflys flew and seemed to mingle with the heavens above.
In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness the trees are filled with starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever
Why? Why didn't he notice her?! She made every effort to show to him that she loved him, and still he didn't even look her direction!
And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know he is blind
Still I say there's a way for us
Maybe she just needed a new approach. Perhaps, if she could somehow make him just see her as something other that "Ron's baby sister," maybe then he could think of her as something more.
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone, the river's just a river
Without him the world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
A soft pink glow swept over the horizon and onto the trees. Shining through their leaves causing them to glow. It reflected off the stream, making it seem as though the waters themselves were a mixture of pink and yellow light. She walked through the woods until she came to a clearing and a hill, over looking the horizon. There, she saw the most beautiful sunrise she had ever seen.
I love him but every day I'm learning
All my life I've only been pretending
Without me his world will go on turning
A world that's full of happiness that I have never known
It was then, watching the sunrise slowly above the treetops that Ginny promised herself that she would find some way to prove to him that she was her own person.
I love him
"I promise you, Harry Potter." she whispered, "I'll find someway to show you. Then, I'll tell you everything."
I love him
Turning swiftly, she walked back toward the burrow, where Harry was just waking up.
I love him
But only on my own
