In his memory, Harry had never seen Hermione flummoxed.
She had aced every exam she'd ever been given. She had solved every problem he'd ever handed her, usually within a few moments of them being handed to her.
Thus, when he had a question, he almost immediately went to her every time.
Her silence lasted longer than he expected, and finally she looked up at him in frustration.
"I…I don't know."
She paced, growing more and more frustrated by the minute, until she looked at him with a frown.
"What?" she exclaimed when she saw his smile.
"Nothing."
He had to admit: Hermione flummoxed was really hot.
