A/N: Hello everyone! This is my first time writing a NaruSaku fanfic so it might not be good. Also this was kind of rushed. Nonetheless enjoy anyways.!
Obligation
"SAKURA-CHAN!"
Her body covered with so many cuts and bruises now leaked blood.
The Akatsuki member inched closer to Naruto's limp form that lay on the damp ground, but Sakura stood between them, dividing the space.
"Give us the Kyuubi vessel." He said with a threatening tone.
"No." The sternness in her voicemade the Akatsuki member doubt in his abilities but sadly the doubt ness only lasted for just a couple seconds.
Realizing she wasn't going to back down, the enemy began to make hand signs.
"S-Sakura-chan m-move. Now, NOW!"
"No Naruto. I will not let them take you away."
"It's okay Sakura-chan. You don't have to protect me. I'll be fine. Just get away from here. Please!" He said desperately.
"I said 'No' Naruto. If I do then they will kill you."
"B-but… if you stay here then you will die."
I won't be there to protect Naruto from them, so you'll have to. Don't let them take the dobes life or …yours.
I won't.
Promise it.
I promise.
"I won't." A small smile formed on her delicate lips.
"Naruto…" He looked at her.
"I've always thought of you as my little brother. Someone who annoyed me to no end, someone who made me feel special. But the funny thing is Naruto at times, when I needed it most, you also gave me hope like an older brother would give his younger sister with his reassuring words. But you see that's my duty, to give you hope with reassuring words. It's my obligation."
A tear fell.
"Sakura-chan…"
"But now that changes. This time you gain hope from my words…"
She steadied herself.
"So listen up Naruto..." The enemy released his attack.
"We will not die…" I promise.
"And I will protect you!" As I am obligated.
And Sakura once again took the blow to her body, protecting Naruto in the process just as she was obliged.
