Suicide Blonde
Oh baby, darling, how I'd love to become your suicide blonde.
It wasn't the first time they'd seen them, and hopefully it would and wouldn't be their last. But with each fight there was the risk of death. It was one that all of them knew and had accepted. They'd seen it happen. Watched as their friends died right before their eyes, but not being able to do anything about it until after the fact, when the shock had worn off.
They'd hope they wouldn't be next. It was horrible, yes, hoping for someone else's death before your own, but it was how the world worked. The world was never a kind place to begin with, so they have to hope they can live one more day.
They'd been back inside of the walls for only a week when the Colossal Titan appeared.
It hadn't been a week of peace; they were always training. But the risk of death was lower than outside, and they felt calm. Like they could breathe for a moment.
So much so that she'd started to let her guard down. A break. She could relax and not worry as much about dying. Or him dying.
She'd always worried about him. Dirk was capable of taking care of himself, but Roxy worried. She knew that she couldn't take care of him if she ever needed to, as she knew that she's hardly even capable of taking care of herself. He'd always taken care of her and helped her with everything. She wasn't sure what she'd do without him. Not that she'd ever admit that out loud, but you could tell from the way she looked at him.
They'd been separated, but promised to meet as soon as they could, once the civilians were safe.
It felt like hours. It probably had been. The titans were still coming in, but the civilians were inside of Wall Rose now.
Roxy spotted Jane and Jake only a few buildings away from where she was. She'd need gas to get over the wall, but she was sure she had enough to spare.
She made her way over to them, glancing around for any signs of Dirk.
"Have you seen him?" she asked once she was next to them.
Jake was silent, not looking her in the eye. Jane looked from Jake to Roxy before letting out a quiet, tired sigh. "Roxy."
"Well?" She looked calm, but her eyes gave away the panic that was rising inside of her.
"He… he didn't make it. He was saving someone and…"
Roxy's eyes closed, her shoulders slumping. "Okay."
"I'm so sorry, Roxy. I was too far away to do anything."
"It's not your fault, Jane," she opened her eyes and smiled at her, "Don't take the blame."
With that, she was off. She was moving quickly and wasting gas, but she didn't care at that point. Jane and Jake watched as she went in the direction of the large hole.
"Should we—?" Jake began.
"No," Jane said. "There's no stopping her."
Her gas ran out. She fell through the air, landing hard on the ground. As soon as she sat up, she felt the stinging in her arm.
Tremors.
She looked up.
A fifteen meter class was making its way toward her, its mouth stretched into an ugly smile.
"Dirk," she said softly, "you promised me. Promised me that we'd see each other again. So I guess this is my only choice, right?" A sad smile crossed her face while she looked at the titan. It was picking her up now, dangling her above itself.
"I'm sorry."
The titan dropped her into its mouth.
To lie beside my Romeo, oh what a wicked way to go.
Hey guys! Long time, no updates. Sorry about that! But I'm back with a Homestuck/SNK crossover. I've been into Homestuck for a while, but this is the first fan fiction I've written for it. Though I only got into SNK recently, I'm caught up with everything.
I haven't done enough writing lately, and it shows.
The quote is from E.V.O.L by Marina and the Diamonds. It's pretty much my headcanon song for Dirk and Roxy. So this thing happened.
Hope you guys liked it!
