Disclaimer;; I don't own Naruto, so the characters aren't mine, just the plot line.

I wrote this really late at night, and it's kinda weird but I like it.

Just a little Kakashi-Sakura love.

Enjoy(:

The world seemed to be spinning around haphazardly, shaded in grotesque colors, much to fast. Sakura felt off balance, as if everything had been tilted on it's axis once again. She heard voices and screams and the gurgles of dying men she could not save. Swords and kunai and shuriken and all the other instruments of her trade; she felt them kissing and caressing her skin.

And so, haunted by everything she could not change, maybe she didn't want to anymore, she would train. Train until the flesh hung from her knuckles, until she was bloody and exhausted enough that the dreams would not come. Horrible dreams, of red, spinning eyes, of foxes ripping apart the men, her boys, she loved with her every breath.

Pulling dead tissue from bone, she remembers the spring before last, when they set his body aflame and let his ashes dance on the winds, brave, brave, Naruto. Oh, how she recalls the tears she shed, clinging to Kakashi, kissing him until she couldn't breathe, he, like the rest of 7, left her after that. Left for a land of snow and despair and escape from the memories of his squad, he had failed, but oh god, how he loved his little blossom.

By the third summer of his absence, Sakura had settled into a routine, an existence, work, train, breathe, survive, and repeat. As word circulated around the village of the copy-nin's return, she felt more betrayed, didn't he have the decency to stay gone? She went on for another week, maybe two, before he finally cornered her. Having the audacity to look just as broken as she felt. Opening her mouth, prepared to spew all the venom at him she had saved for the past three years, long years, but all that escaped was a strangled sob.

He rushed forward, wanting to put her back together, but all the kings horses, and all the king's men… With his arms wrapped firmly around her, she cried and swore and hit and called him every name in the book, twice. After a few minutes or hours or days, Kakashi couldn't have told you, green eyes looked up at him, boring into him, searching for the truth. So, he gave her the only truth he knew, tugging down his mask and slanting his mouth over hers.

The world spun, in beautiful hues and designs then righted itself. Screams turned to laughter, Naruto's on a lazy D-mission. Once harsh voices became a sweet lullaby, Sasuke singing to them when they had been a family. Dying men's cries were now the happy exclamations of a child, Kurenai's little Azuma toddling around the park chasing butterflies.

As they pulled away, she hoped and hoped and hoped that the feeling of relief would remain. That he would stay. Stay and make sure the nightmares didn't come back. Stay, because if he left again she knew she'd self-destruct. Watching her for a moment, jewel eyes watering as she regarded him, he smiled.

"I will not leave you again. Ever. That is my vow." He promised, sounding so much like Naruto, she could feel his sunshine on her face. Tears streaming down peach cheeks, she laughed and cried and kissed him with all that she was. He was home and he loved her and he would make everything right in the end.
