To the world and the stupider half of mystic falls I was just plain old Lorrain Salvatore, the girl who lived with her brothers up in the creepy boarding house, didn't have many friends and was currently failing school.

But to everyone else I was a 162 year old vampire, who had just lost her brother and was trying to keep her life as normal as possible, which is a bit strange to think about it.

The only reason I went to school was because Damon, my eldest brother said I had to help him keep up appearances. He was head of the council for vampire hunting, which was ironic, and part of being a founding family was behaving like one, in public that is.

I wouldn't call us a family, Damon and Stefan; my other brother hadn't gotten along since we were human until we all arrived back in our hometown Mystic Falls. That was true up to a week ago when Stefan disappeared with Klaus. He was a half vampire half werewolf that we have been trying to get rid of for a while.

"Lorrie, get your but down stairs and go to school" Damon shouted down from our living room. I lazily dragged myself down the staircase and stuck my head in the room expecting to see another person brooding on the couch. It was only Damon and I tried not to show disappointment

"Ok I'm going I'll be home later." I blew him a kiss goodbye and walked out the door into boring teenage life.

When I pulled into the school parking lot I saw Bonnie, Caroline, Matt and Tyler standing around talking. These were my fellow supernatural teens. Bonnie was a witch, Caroline was a vampire and her boyfriend Tyler was a werewolf. Matt, poor Matt was the human mixed up in this. Normally Elena would be here with her brother Jeremy but they were still mourning the death of their aunt and Elena's biological father.

"Hey Lorrie" Caroline was the first to greet me, the blonde was probably my closest friend in the group. The others were less enthusiastic, worried that I'd crack in Stefan's absence.

We were close, he was my older twin by 3 minutes and we looked alike, the same hair colour, same complexion with only my blue eyes the matched Damon's instead of his green.

I understood they were concerned but I wasn't one to break down in tears and the awkward looks they sent my way were only pissing me off.

"Stop with the looks ok, I'm fine and your just annoying me." I said when I got feed up. Tyler, Bonnie and Caroline mumbled sorriest and Matt spoke up.

"Sorry Lorrie we are just worried, it can't be easy for you, or Damon" It wasn't but I couldn't let them know that, I did not stand for pity.

"So does anyone have any plans for the holidays?" asked Bonnie, swiftly changing the subject.

"Well" Caroline started prattling on about her plans as if she were a normal girl. I didn't listen. That's how I spent the rest of the day sitting in class and ignoring the teachers, I'd learn it all again in a few years anyway.

It wasn't until I got home to see Damon with his Alcohol in his hand and a saddened look on his face that I cracked.

Damon" tears streaked down my face as he pulled me into a hug.

"shh, shh. I'll get him back, you'll be alright" he soothed me.

We stayed together and fell asleep on the couch.
