Hey! Please read this, it's kind of important! This is my entry for vicky199416's Happiest Moment In Their Lives Competition. My character is Lily Luna Potter (Harry's daughter). The first part is in Lily's POV in the past. Then the next part is Lily's POV at the current time like she's telling a story. The two parts will be separated with this fancy line: ~*~*~*~*. So enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter; I'm just a girl who likes HP and writes fanfiction.
I loved flying, well considering my heritage it shouldn't be a surprise. Grandpa, Dad and Mum all being on the Gryffindor Quidditch team as well as Mum being a former Holly Head Harpy. When I was little I would watch Al and James playing Quidditch from the house and envy them greatly. So much so that sometimes I would sneak out at night and take the brooms for a ride. I think Mum knew but she also knew about my strong desire to fly so she pretended not to notice.
I was ten years old when Dad taught me how to fly. It was a few weeks after Al and James left for Hogwarts in Al's second year and I was distraught! I had no one to play with on the days when Aunt Hermione, Uncle Ron and Hugo weren't at our house. So I was sitting on my bed reading Quidditch Through the Ages again when Dad came in.
"Lily, would you come and help me with the brooms? With James and Al at school I don't want them to become stiff with disuse," Dad grinned at me.
"Really?" I threw my book onto my bed and jumped up.
"Yes."
I ran through the bedroom door barely avoiding my dad and hopped down the stairs. I heard Dad chuckle as he followed me to the backyard. Leaning against the shed was a Firebolt 300.
"I thought you could use a broom so you would stop using ours," Dad said as he handed it to me. I was about to ask how he knew when he said, "Your Mum told me."
I probably would have been more embarrassed if I didn't just get the best broom known to wizard-kind. I held it firmly between my legs and kicked off of the ground. I ascended higher and higher, the wind whipping my hair back and forth.
"Great job Lily!" Dad yelled from below.
Its summer now and James and Al are back from Hogwarts and the two of them, Dad, Mum and I are playing Quidditch together. This is my last summer before I'm off to Hogwarts but I've realized that I'll miss my family being together. This is my happiest memory just being with my family having fun. Flying is fun but I always did it alone and being with the people I love makes me happy.
A:N- So this is my story, I know it's not great but this is what I came up with. If you're reading this I want to thank you because you finished my story! Yay! I do realize that Lily's thought process is very advanced for a 10/11 year old but in order to tell the story it had to be written like that. Thanks vicky199416 for the prompt even though it cause me a lot of stress . Thanks for reading and bye!
