A full moon glowed on the water of the lake. An owl shreed, swooping across the sky.
Two figures sat at the lakeshore, curled against each other. "Look at the moon-path," one said. "Squirrelflight, only you would notice that!" purred the taller, darker one. "Well, I've taken to noticing the beauty in little things..." her mew faded. "Are you still thinking about that? I forgave you, you know. Lionblaze and Jayfeather have forgiven us and Leafpool, too has made up with them." Bramblestar meowed seriously.

She purred and nuzzled him, eyes shadowed with grief for a second. "I know, Bramblestar, I know. I was just thinking about Hollyleaf..."

"She gave her life to save Ivypool. No warrior could have been nobler. We know she is in StarClan with your father." Squirrelflight flicked his ears. "I miss Firestar, but I couldn't imagine a better leader than you!" she teased, laying her paw on his.

She got up, and padded to the lake. Bramblestar followed. "What are you doing-" She slapped her paw on the glassy water, making it ripple and sending a wave of water in Bramblestar's face. He blinked at her, whiskers dripping.

"You!" Before they knew it, they were running and splashing each other in the shallows. They were so absorbed in it, they didn't notice the amber and blue eyes gleaming in the trees.

"They sound like they're enjoying themselves." mewed the grey tabby with blue eyes. "Jayfeather, sometimes you really..." The golden tom sighed.

"Lionblaze, you're just grumpy you aren't deputy!" teased Jayfeather. "Why, you little.-" Soon the two brothers were bickering good naturedly.

A cool breeze swept across the lake. High above, a starry cat the color of flame looked down on his daughter, his grandsons, and his daughter's mate. The Clans would fight and argue, but life would go on.

All was well.
