Really sorry i haven't been writing any stories, being the holidays i don't really have a writing head on x]
Anyway, this is a story that i started a bit ago, its not finished yet, but i WILL finish it! Also sorry this chapter is extremely short, the next is much longer :]

Pippin picked a dusty book up from his uncles house, its cover read- Pranks. Merry always pulled pranks on him, now it was payback time. The only problem was- Pippin hadn't ever pulled a prank on anyone (boy was that sure about to change!) He plonked down into a comfy seat; placed the book in his lap and turned to the first page.
The first page was the contents page, he quickly scanned it down, noticing one particular and turning to the informed page. He read through the description and instructions, the first reading 'find an open space e.g. a beach, Forest…' obviously there was no beach near the village, but there was a forest. He realised that a slow, wide smile was forming on his face. He heard footsteps. Pippin was up on his feet and over to the bookshelf in no time. He stood there looking as normal as he could. Merry strolled in and looked blankly at Pippin, he cleared his throat to get his attention, Pippin spun round
"oh hey Merry, didn't hear you come in" Pippin said trying to keep his face as innocent as possible
"Pippin…what are you doing?" Merry asked
"I'm stood here…talking to you" Pippin answered slowly
"no…I mean what were you doing?" Merry Questioned Pippin again
"well…" he looked back, trying to think of something quickly. Nothing. "I was reading-"
"but you never read" Merry stated
"what cant I read now? - anyway, who let you in?"
"well the door-"
"Merry, you cant come barging into someones home and start questioning them" he said, trying to turn the table "I mean what if I was doing something that I didn't want you to know about?" at least he wasn't lying about everything.
"ah, I know what this is,…"
Pippin's eyes widened, how did he know? He didn't tell anyone
"…you're planning a birthday surprise for me aren't you?" Merry's face was suddenly brighter.
"Yeah!" Pippin let out a nervous laugh "that's right you got me-"
"I knew it! Because my birthday is coming up and…yeah I knew it!"
Pippin looked stunned at how the conversation had changed, after all he had forgotten about his birthday and this was a good way of being reminded.
Merry was nodding his head continuously "yep…right, I'm off to see Frodo, I told him you were planning something, but he said I was wrong! I have to prove it to him! See you in a bit Pip, keep up the planning" he winked and strode out the door
Pippin had nothing to say but just sighed in relief.
