So this would equal my fourth actual fanfiction. Yay!!!

Alright, so this is all following Kairi, her personal emotions, and her dealing with the new couple (everyone's favorite Riku and Sora). Doesn't show Kairi in a bad light, because I rather like her now, even though I practically despised her through the first game. Anyway, please read and review!!!

Disclaimer- I dun own Kingdom Hearts. I wish I did, but no.

Even though she knows they're in love, even though she's happy that they're happy, she can't help the way she feels (resentful, angry, jealous?) when she sees them.

Kairi knows they're perfect together, different sides of the same coin, the light in Sora complementing the shadows of Riku. She's known for years, seen the long looks and secret smiles the boys thought they were hiding.

When she first understood that the two were more than just best friends, Kairi had gone to Selphie. The brunette girl had just sighed dreamily, her feelings about the relationship not helping Kairi's own conflicting emotions.

Later that night, the redhead lay in bed, wondering why she was so upset by Riku and Sora's new love. She finally fell asleep, only to wake up later with a realization: she was upset because deep down, she'd wanted Sora to love HER.

The next day, Kairi approached the couple at school. She'd spend the time following her epiphany sorting out all her feelings, and was now fairly sure of what she was about to say.

Pulling the brunet aside, Kairi began to talk, telling Sora about all her previously unresolved emotions, how she'd learned that she wanted Sora to be with her, instead of Riku, and when the boy tried to respond to that statement, Kairi quickly assured him she didn't feel that way anymore.

At the end of her long-winded speech, Kairi could only fall silent, giving Sora an apologetic look. The boy merely blinked his big, blue eyes and pulled Kairi into a tight hug, wordlessly accepting all the girl's unspoken pleas of forgiveness (for what, Sora wasn't entirely sure).

When Riku appeared at Sora's side, Kairi offered both a watery smile. Confusion passed over Riku's face, but he shrugged it off, letting Sora grab the hands of both redhead girl and silver-haired boy before eagerly dragging them off to class.

Later, Selphie would ask Kairi if anything was wrong. The redhead would look over at the cuddling Sora and Riku, before turning back with a soft smile on her face.

"No," she'd murmur. "No, everything's just fine."
