Dear Satine...
I'd never known that love could be true
Never until the night I saw you
Descending in a shower of colour and light
I was captivated by the dazzling sight.
Though neither of us could know
Not me the poet or you the star of the show
That we were destined to be ripped apart
Even before our lives together could start.
In my dreams behind closed eyes
I'm holding you beneath Parisian skies
Silent as I haven't sung a note since that day
When fate claimed your spirit and took you away.
But if the greatest thing to learn
Is to love and be loved in return,
Though it caused me the deepest pain
Loving you, Satine, was not in vain.
...Love Christian
