this is my first fanfic so please be honest and let me know what you think. this story is supposed to run parallel to the canon of the mlp universe but some changes may be made unintentionally. At this point in time only 2 big events from the show are scheduled to be a part of the story but others will be added as the story progresses. please enjoy chapter one and rate if you get the chance

Chapter One: the Timber-Wolves Attack

the colt was exploring the area around his hometown of Ponyville. he never seemed to lose his way no matter how far he was from home. one day he was planning on going particularly far and decided to go buy some apples from Big Mac for lunch before setting out. he walked up to the stall and spoke to Big Mac asking for a small bag of apples and laying his 20 bits on the counter. Big Mac hands him the bag nodding politely.

having obtained his provisions North Star left town heading into the Everfree forest instinctively finding his way around the dangerous areas as he wandered. finding a clearing later that afternoon he decided to stop for a snack. pulling out the bag of apples he takes one out and starts nomming on it. it was then that a pack of timber wolves stepped out of the trees surrounding him and glaring at him hungrily. he would look at them unconcerned as he finished his apple putting his bag back he sat watching the timberwolves lazily and yawned.

the timberwolves used to fear from ponies, especially the small ones, did not know what to make of the young Pegasus pony. they cautiously edged closer and the Pegasus pony hopped up into the air flying into a tree and looks down at the timber wolves holding the apple core. after a moment of looking down at them he throws the core hitting one of them making it crumble as the core bounces and hits 2 others making them collapse. "heh that was kinda fun" stated the Pegasus.

as he looked around he saw that far off in the direction of Cloudsdale there was what appeared to be a rainbow flying across the sky in all directions and as it passed over him in the sky he felt the shock-wave knock him from the tree and he falls to the ground on a pile of wood that used to be a timberwolf and he sees that the others are all knocked to the ground piles of wood until they have a chance to reform in time. the Pegasus pony decides that now would be a good time to head home to plan his next excursion. this time to see the source of the rainbow that had caused him to fall. little did he know that his once blank flank was now covered in an unusual design that he would soon find out to be his cutie mark… the mark of his destiny.
