The walk that ended
After their wedding, Jamie and Landon walked down the aisle into the limo. "I love you," she said smiling. He kissed her head. "I can't believe you're mine" he stroked her hair. "I wish I could be yours forever but Landon." she said. "No, don't even mention it, Jamie. I love you, I don't care if you're sick, you'll always be the perfect angel for me" he closed his eyes holding her close. Jamie lay silently in her husband's arms. My husband? She thought as she smiled. "Landon?" "Yeah, baby?" he looked at her. "Do you regret marrying me? I mean, I'm gonna die and you still.." "No, no you're not gonna die" he said as tears formed in his eyes. Jamie understood and stopped talking about the subject "I'm sorry" she said. Landon stroked her hair" It's not your fault" he said. "Mr Carter, we are here" the driver said. Landon got down and opened the door for her. She looked at the house in front of them. "Landon, it's so beautiful" her eyes shone with happiness. "So are you" he lifted her up and they went in the house. "This is s wonderful" Landon put her down as she walked in each room inspecting every corner" Where did you get the money from?" she asked "Dad bought it for us" he said. Jamie looked at him. "Landon, he's also paying for my home treatment" she said "Okay, actually both of us brought it together so that you'll be happy" he said. " I don't need a house to be happy. We could be living in a hut but as long as I have you, I'm happy" she told him. " You deserve the best" he hugged her

For two months, they've been living happily passing each day with love and joy but each day that passes also made Landon worried. He became restless. He knew Jamie's getting weaker and weaker and he's afraid. Afraid of losing her. That night, Jamie complained that she felt sleepy and went to bed early. Landon tucked her in and stayed by her side. "I love you" he kissed her head. Landon was awake the whole night hoping for the best. At last he fell asleep when she woke up. She held her husband tightly "Landon, I never dreamt something so wonderful like you to happen to me. I'm so afraid of losing you cause I love you so much" she gave him a kiss. That evening, Landon went off to Eric's house for a short while. "How's Jamie?" Eric asked "Not so good. She's pale, so pale sometimes the color drained off her face " Landon said running his hand through his hair. "She's strong, Lan. She'll fight till the last" Eric gave encouragement. Ring! Ring! "Landon, honey. I don't feel well" Jamie said. "Jamie, are you okay?" his grip on the phone tightens. "I dunno, I just.." he heard a thud and the phone dropped. Landon raced home as fast as he could. When he arrived home, he found Jamie on the floor with the phone nearby. " Oh my god, Jamie. God, please don't take her away from me, I'm not ready to let her go" he pulled out his handphone as his shivering fingers stroked her hair
