Setting Sun
It was only fair that Edward Elric should have the honour to die under the setting sun.
After all, everything between them had happened under the setting sun.
He remembered that the first time they ever showed emotions for each other was after their battle for Edward's yearly assessment.
They had been ordered to clear up the grounds after the great damage they had done.
They talked under the setting sun, and it was at that time when Edward confessed to him, and Roy returned him with a kiss.
He remembered that before Edward's disappearance, they had talked to each other in a car while his Lieutenant, Riza Hawkeye, was driving.
They talked of many serious things, and Edward spoke very wisely. He felt that Edward had grown up a lot then.
Then they parted under the setting sun. He was ready to salute, when something took over him and instead, he offered his hand to Edward.
Edward only slapped his hand in a friendly way instead of giving him a formal handshake.
Their eyes met for a brief moment, and their eyes told each other what mere words could not express.
And when Edward finally returned to Amestris after many years, they spent most of their time together under the setting sun.
Their love was marked by the setting sun.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion.
The bullet hit him, spraying blood over Roy's body.
The force of the bullet knocked him over.
Roy watched as the blonde alchemist lost his balance and fell.
The dazzling golden light of the setting sun blinded his eyes.
He shielded his eyes and watched as the boy hit the muddy ground with a sickening thud!
It was like a dream. The light of the setting sun made everything glimmer. Nothing was realistic enough. Not even the dead body lying in front of him.
It was a long time before the noise registered in Roy's mind.
Years seemed to have passed before Roy's senses came back to real life and informed him that a certain person named Edward Elric was dead.
Realization hit him hard and mercilessly, like icy cold water on a freezing winter morning.
His knees felt weak and buckled beneath him. They hit the ground, but he felt no pain.
He thrusted his head up, forced himself to look at the setting sun, not caring whether the sunlight would hurt his eyes or not.
His whole mind was screaming, crying, yelling inside him, tearing him apart.
But he did not make any noise on the outside.
He knelt like that for hours before some military personnel found him there.
It was already dark when they found him. The sun had set, marking the end of Roy Mustang and Edward Elric's time together.
But it would never mark the end of their deep love for each other.
This love was undying.
A/N: I just sort of felt the need to write something about the setting sun and this is what was produced. Please read & review!
