What Naruto wanted more than anything was to be respected so of course he wanted to be Hokage they were respected and loved by everybody, but Jiji (The Sandaime Hokage) said he had to be a Shinobi, a ninja who protected and helped others he promised to be the greatest Shinobi ever but he was in his first year at the academy and was failing badly so he made an elaborate plan he would sneak into the Hokage tower and borrow some of the awesome ninja scrolls his Jiji must own.

It was late at night just before midnight and the silence was deafening but suddenly the silence was broken by the sound of running. If someone where to look any but a trained Shinobi would see a blond blur speeding from rooftop to rooftop. Naruto was almost at the tower years of hiding after pranks assisting him in avoiding Anbu squads that where currently patrolling the perimeter of the tower.
5 Eventless Minutes later
He had done it he had made it into Jiji's office without being caught, he looked around the office for anything that could help a powerful ninja, But suddenly an alarm sounded he looked down to see that he had tripped a thin wire, knowing the civilian council would try to punish him for being here this late he grabbed the closest book he could see which happened to be a small orange book titled Icha Icha: Paradise and jumping out the window below, He ran for what seemed like hours until he reached his apartment in the red-light district. It wasn't much it was rundown and only just large enough for one person but Naruto didn't care he ignored the words monster and beast painted on his door and never complained because his Jiji game him this house after he was kicked out of the orphanage and it was one of the first thing that belonged to him. who cares if the water was cold or that the owner who rented it to him charged him so much that all he had left of his weekly orphan payment of 50,000 Ryo (the equivalent of 500 American dollars) was enough to buy ramen and clothes or it would be if any shop owner actually allowed him to buy anything.
Looking at the book it didn't seem like a powerful ninja scroll but looks can be deceiving so eight year old Naruto began to read it was a bit weird but the Writer Jiraiya said he was a powerful ninja and one of the legendary Sannin whatever they are but the last line is what made him continue reading it said that he was a student of Jiji. 'So he must be powerful,' Thought Naruto. After hours of reading he found that it wasn't a book of powerful techniques 'at least not ninja ones' but he liked what he was reading and decided it was the most awesome thing ever and needed to finish it learn what the author called the way of the super pervert.
No one could have ever realized just how much that one book could change their world.
