writing this was...suprising. oo;; especially since I've never liked anything I've written before. so I harldy ever write.

but during math class (which I never pay attention to anyways xD), I was staring out of the window at the falling snow and suddenly I was inspired to write. and this is the result! it's short but hopefully good. it's my first fic, so criticise all you want! it'll help me write better in the future!

It was a cold day. Snow fell gracefully to the Earth, with a calm silence recanting in the air.

A figure lay sprawled in a clearing of fallen snow. His tossled golden hair, warmer than the sun, shone clearly apart from the pure white of the flakes. Snowflakes fell gently upon his form, catching in his hair and eyelashes. Bright blue eyes, as clear as the clearest summer day, stared up at the peaceful gray sky, watching the snowflakes' decent. His eyes were glazed over, his mind lost in thought.

The silence was broken as the sound of footsteps echoed through the air. A new figure walked into the clearing. His skin was of a fair complextion, the color almost as pale as the snow around him. His hair, a deep black as dark as the the night that swallowed the sky, contrasted against his pale skin, making him seem to glow. The falling snowflakes caught in his hair looked much like stars in the night sky. Eyes as black as his hair stared upon the form lying in the fallen snow, taking in every detail of the sight.

"Naruto, what are you doing?" his melodious voice spoke. Naruto's eyes focused as he turned his gaze upon the dark haired teen.

After moments of silence hung thickly through the air, Naruto replied softly. "...Nothing."

Sasuke walked to stand besides his snow-covered teammate. Blue eyes met black as Sasuke stared into Naruto's bright eyes, before Sasuke layed down in the snow beside the blonde, his face emotionless.

Surpise shone clearly in Naruto's eyes as he looked sideways at his teammate. "Sasuke...what are you doing...?" he asked, blinking in confusion.

Sasuke rolled his head to meet the blonde's gaze. "...Nothing."

The teens held each other's gaze as they let the snow continue to fall upon them. A comfortable silence formed between the two as the snow around them and the cold of the Earth and the air was forgotten. All that mattered was the person beside them.
