And I'm not good at writing about Bleach.
Another Christmas present for Lilya-chan, as well.
I dedicate it to all the people on who like this couple.
They're not my favourite pairing, but…I wrote this story and "Like this" caught in a rush of inspiration. What do you think? Please let me know.
Like picking up a star.
"How does it feel?" they used to ask her.
And she didn't answer, just shrugged as she passed by.
But, as she came home and slipped in her bed, that question just emerged from the crowd of her thoughts and tormented her until she wasn't able to sleep.
How…how did it feel?
She couldn't tell.
It just was. Nothing to explain or to describe.
But that question just wouldn't let her go.
"How does it look like to love a Shinigami?" they went on, whispering into her ears, slightly chuckling or, on the contrary, shaking with terror.
And her mouth just hung open, every single word choking into her throat, her breath huffing and limbs trembling. Yes, for that matter really startled her.
Maybe because she never thought about it, maybe because for her it was just…
Just how it was.
But that wasn't enough yet for them.
They wanted details, explanations.
They wanted her to put it down in words. To paint with vivid colours some distinct, precise pictures of their life showing them every single fragment of that existence.
But she couldn't.
The harder she tried, the less she managed.
It really upset her.
"Why?" she kept on wonder, struggling to find a valid reason for her not to give shape to that heat, to those kisses, to that…
Love.
That word echoed in her mind, bouncing against the hardness of their prejudices and the stubbornness of their demands.
And then she understood.
How was it possible to express with wintry words the warmth of being loved and hugged?
How could they claim for her to break the bliss of the silence, the charm of the unsaid and the wonder of the upcoming?
Yes, she was now sure…
"How does it feel?" the kept on asking, but Arisawa Tatsuki didn't shrug anymore.
"Just like picking up a star" she answered, moving her gaze to the void ceiling.
And she smiled as she saw the incredulity on their faces, for she knew it was the truth.
