"Thousands upon thousands of years ago, the human race was considered to be little more than food to the two dominant species, the demons and the dragons. The dragons the mountains and the skies, while the demons made the land and the seas their own. Their kinds ruled over every corner of the globe back then with powers that humans referred to as Draconic energy. However, there was a group of dragons who question the reign that they held and felt it was unjust, and they wanted humans, demons and dragons to coexist in the world in an era of peace. As with any idea that people consider to be fanatic, there were a great deal of dragons who fully agreed, but there were a great deal many dragons and nearly all demons outright opposed such a thought. It was only a matter of time before war broke out, the good dragons against the bad dragons and the demons. Granted there were a good number of dragons who remained neutral and chose to isolate themselves, but they did little that was actually considered noteworthy. Both sides were fairly evenly matched, the war last for many decades and was so intense that entire continents were left as little more than barren wastelands, but when the dust at last settled there were few left on either side. On the side of the supporters of co existence, there were only six surviving dragons with different elemental powers. They were known as Kasai, the Flame dragon of fire. Tetsu, the Mountain dragon of earth and metal. Fubuki, the Blizzard dragon of water and ice. Senpu, the Tempest dragon of Wind. Raiun, the dragon of Lightning. And their leader was Kigen, the one dragon that started the Draconic movement for coexistence and the most powerful dragon of all, the one dragon capable of manipulating all of the other five elements as well as the most formidable of them all, the elements of Light and Darnkess. However, on the other side stood Ragnarok, the sole surviving dragon on his side, one who had personally killed thousands upon thousands of dragons and bathed in their blood, and by extension he gained their power as a result. Along with him stood twelve demons, thousands of times more powerful than any of the their other brethren. Those demons were known and feared as the Zodiacs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. The dragons on the side of coexistence knew that their race would not be able to survive like this and their powers had been almost entirely drained by Ragnarok as well, and so they came up with a plan that doomed Ragnarok and the Zodiac demons. The good dragons each personally selected one specific human warrior that they judged to be worthy of their power, transferred their essence into the souls of those humans and converted them into what would later come to be known as Dragon Slayers. There was Kazama, the Fire Dragon Slayer. Asakura, the Blizzard Dragon Slayer. Konoe, the Iron Dragon Slayer. Hojo, the Tempest Dragon Slayer. Eba, the Lightning Dragon Slayer. And then there was Kamikaze, the Dragon Slayer of Light, their leader and the most powerful Dragon Slayer of all, capable of using all six elemental powers. With this new act the dragons had committed and with the new power the humans had at their disposal, mankind had joined the war in the final stand. The immeasurable power of the first Dragon Slayers was able to quickly turn the tide of the war, and while they were too young and inexperience to kill any of the foes that they faced they were able to seal away the 12 Zodiac demons, leaving only Ragnarok standing against them and even then the victory seemed almost certain for the Dragon Slayers. But no one could have predicted what Ragnarok did next, or the travesty that came to pass as a result. Realizing that he himself would not be able to defeat the Dragon Slayers, Nikushimo himself found a warrior to whom he gave his power, using his already corrupted heart to his advantage and eventually managing to take over his body and soul entirely, and he then proceeded to turn on his newfound human brethren. It was an utter massacre. With his newfound body and power, Ragnarok wielded power so terrible that he bathed the countryside in the blood of humans and dragons alike. The very mention of his name still haunts all of those who hear it. This man slayed every single dragon that he came across and bathed in their blood, and he used his powers so often that his skin turned back to scales, his teeth sharpened back into fangs, and any trace of actual humanity had ceased to exist if there was any left at all. He turned into a dragon once more, though he did retain the ability to take on a human form whenever he pleased, and yet he was still cloaked in wings of darkness, both figuratively and literally. All hope seemed lost for the Dragon Slayers until, in the spur of the moment, they managed to unlock their maximum levels of power: Dragon Force, the power to destroy everything in one's path. With this power, they were able to drive Ragnarok off but just barely, and even then he vowed that once he regained his full power, he would return. Knowing that this was far from an empty bluff, the Dragon Slayers made a pact with each other; Since their Draconian powers would be passed onto their descendents due to the Draconian energy fusing with their physical bodies and bloodstreams, they would train each generation in the arts of the Dragon Slayers, providing guidance through their chronicled exploits and experience, making sure that their descendents are ready for when the day of the final battle comes."

The skies were calm as day was just beginning to break over the city of Tokyo.
However, for one young man and his friends and family his life was about to change forever, for the better or the worst had yet to be determined.
Either way, a great adventure was about to begin.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
A young man with brown hair and brown eyes suddenly bolted upright in his bed, panting heavily with sweat dripping down his face "Dammit… that same dream again…" he put his glasses on and glanced over at his clock '5:30 in the morning again… For f*ck's sake, I give up already.' he laid back down in his bed and sighed 'My name is Tatsu Kamikaze and I'm pretty much as normal as they come, well for the most part anyway. I'm a 9th grade student in middle school in modern day Tokyo Japan living a pretty normal life, at least now I am. My life was pretty rough when I was young. I was born in a city called Hikarizaka a fair distance away from Tokyo, but I moved here with my older brother Kazuma and his girlfriend Mai Sakurajima when the two of them graduated from high school and started to go to Tokyo University. As for my parents… my mother got sick and passed away when I was really little, and my dad disappeared after about 7 years ago. Everyone believed him to be dead, along with one other guy during a family vacation to Tokyo who actually did did since they found his body, but I believe that he's still out there somewhere. After that it was just me and my brother for awhile, but there was a silver lining. I realized where my true feelings were, and they were for her.' he slowly looked over at a picture of him and a beautiful girl with wavy raven black hair and big blue eyes 'Her name is Kagome Higurashi, she and I met when her family was on vacation and her dad was killed in the car accident but seeing her cry made me die inside and my brother helped me realize what this meant… I was in love with her, and I still am today. I made a vow to protect her so that she would never have to shed tears again, and since then I've been training every day of my life to get as strong as I could so that I'd be able to protect her. That and it's a coping method, I don't know what it is but getting the blood pumping really helps me to take the edge off. Plus apparently Mai's uncle runs a dojo in Hikarizaka so he taught me a few really good moves, the weird thing is that he hates Kazuma but he really likes me for some reason. I guess it's the fact that I didn't sleep with his daughter and my passion for the art of the sword, but then again I suppose that's what you'll get from watching all 95 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin.' he looked over towards another picture of him and four other guys 'Those two guys are my best friends Arashi Kazama, Raidou Asakura and the older guy os Akira Konoe, the last one is one of Kazuma's best friends. Arashi has been my best friend since we were both 4, I met Raidou when we were in 6th grade about a year ago. Arashi's dream is to become the greatest chef the world has ever seen and he's got the talent to back it up, plus it's fun to watch him and Akira try to be ladies men and fail miserably at it. Raidou is kind of a loner and can be somewhat cynical sometimes but he's got a good heart, it just takes a little bit of digging to find it. Mai and Kazuma moved in together about 2 years ago and Akira moved in with them so it's pretty cool to have him as a roommate. They all understand my burning desire to protect Kagome and they've been training with me in every way they could. Thanks to them I've mastered 7 different forms of martial arts and I'm a third level master of kendo. Still though, I can't help but having these dreams ever since I turned 13. Me, Arashi, Raidou, Akira, Kazuma and a few others that looked like a bunch of shadowy figures standing against an army of demons and dragons in the middle of a city drenched in corpses with a sky blood red. I don't know what it means but I've got a bad feeling in my gut that I'm gonna find out soon enough.' he heard his phone ringing and picked it up "Hey there Arashi, what's up? Yeah of course we're still on for you guys coming over for breakfast today. Yeah it's that dream again, no I don't know what it means. I'm just gonna go ahead and head out on my usual morning workout before breakfast. Alright see you then, and say hi to your mom for me." and he hung up and started to get dressed for the day ahead 'I have a feeling this is gonna be quite the interesting summer vacation.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
About 15 minutes passed.
Tatsu prepared to make his way out the door with a set of headphones in his ears and a sword strapped to his back 'I still can't shake the feeling.'
"Going out on your morning workout?"
Tatsu looked back and saw Kazuma (short brown hair, teal eyes and glasses) and Akira (black hair, bright blue eyes and white t shirt) standing behind him clad in a white collared shirt and black pants "Yeah I figured I'd go ahead and get it done while the city is still quiet and before the guys get here. Plus Mai is still asleep so I don't have to worry about waking her up."
"A lot of people would respect you for your discipline and dedication, have a good run but be careful. I have a feeling that a great change is in store for all of us."
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." and he made his way out the door.
'A great change is on the horizon.' Kazuma looked over at the mantle 'I guess it's almost time they found out, I know for a fact that Raidou already knows but hasn't said anything for his own reasons. Still, maybe the time has come. Tatsu, you've got a tough road ahead of you but I know that you've got what it takes.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
About 10 minutes passed.
Tatsu was running across the rooftops and leapt down in front of the stairway to a shrine 'Good old Higurashi shrine, one of the perfect places to go to clear your thoughts together. Kagome lives here with her mother,, her grandfather and her little brother Sota. I teach him in a few subjects
"Engaged in your morning exercises as usual?"
Tatsu looked up and saw an old man in a priest's robes make his way down the stairs "Yes sir, I figured it was best to do it while the city was still quiet. Father Higurashi, the priest of the shrine. He tends to ramble on but he does mean well, at least most of the time.'
"A wise choice, your dedication to the warrior life is commendable."
"Please don't misunderstand me. I'm no warrior, I just do what I have to in order to protect the people I care about. Speaking of which…"
"She's still asleep, after all it's still only sunrise on a Saturday."
"That's true, and to be honest sometimes I forget that Kagome is such a heavy sleeper."
"She always has been. Tell me Tatsu my boy, have you ever heard of the tale of the Shikon no Tama, the Jewel of Four Souls?"
"At least 10 times, and with all due respect I highly doubt tourists are actually going to buy those key chains."
"It's more than just a key chain, the jewel on the end of each one-"
"Is a replica of an ancient jewel. And that's about as far as you get before everyone gets bored with the story."
"...Yes, anyway have you ever heard of the story of the Dragon Slayers?"
"No I think that's a new one."
"While I would love to take the time to explain it to you I wouldn't want to interrupt you during your morning training, I suggest you converse with Kazuma about this matter when you get the chance."
"...I'll be sure to keep that in mind." and he took off to continue his workout.
'Tatsu my boy, destiny has great plans for you.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The Kamikaze household was quiet in the early morning.
Kazuma was reading a book on the couch when he heard a knock on the door "You know you guys have keys, you don't have to knock."
Sure enough, Raidou (dark brown hair, black eyes, dark blue t shirt) made his way inside, with Arashi (black hair, blue eyes, red t shirt) right behind him "We know, I was just trying to be polite."
"Good to know, so anything interesting happen to you guys since… you know, yesterday?"
"Not really-"
"Funny story actually." Arashi let out a chuckle "I slept on my hand all night and it got numb and hit my face and I thought someone slapped me while I was asleep, don't you hate it when that happens?"
"...Words never cease to fail me with you."
"It's part of my charm."
"Charm isn't the word that I would use with you."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The sun was still rising over the skies of Tokyo.
Tatsu was racing across the rooftops of Tokyo with the sun shining down on him 'Great, I've got unwanted company. That's the last thing I need.' he whipped his head around and noticed several figures in black suits and masks charging at him with swords in hand, a semi familiar symbol on each of their chests 'That symbol, it's for the 12 Zodiac signs isn't it? Alright guys, I'm not one to promote violence but since talking clearly isn't gonna work with you then I guess I've got no choice." he easily sidestepped one of them and kicked them into a nearby wall before facing the others as he drew his sword off of his back 'I can't attract too much attention while I'm dealing with these guys or people will start to freak out, I'd better get moving.' he leapt down onto the roof of a lower building and started running for it, with the figures hot on his heels 'I can't draw any attention by fighting these guys, I've gotta lure them away to the less populated area of the city near that old abandoned shopping district!'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Soon enough, Arashi was hard at work in the kitchen preparing several plates of eggs and toast with several glasses of orange juice poured and ready "Shouldn't be much longer now guys, just hold on for another 10 to 15 minutes or so."
That was when Mai (long black hair, purple eyes, bunny shaped barrette) came into the living room wearing a silk purple bathrobe and matching slippers, and she let out a sigh "Oh right, my boyfriend and his little brother's friends are invading the living room again. Hey guys." she received two nonchalant waves "Okay what's burning."
"Arashi's cooking again." Akira didn't even bother looking up from the book that he was reading.
As it turns out, Arashi had messed up the yolk on one of the eggs 'Well that's what improvising is for. Hey guys, scrambled is okay with all of you right?"
"Again?" Raidou's tone was flat.
"...Ignoring that, where's Tatsu anyway? I haven't seen him yet."
"He's off doing his morning workout." Kazuma told him "He said he'd be back before breakfast so he should be back soon."
"Well I hope he does get back soon." Arashi looked out the window as storm clouds began looming over the city "It looks like it's going to rain, if he doesn't get back soon he'll get soaked and I don't want him to catch a cold."
Raidou tensed up slightly 'If this feeling I have is true then he's gonna have a lot more than that to worry about.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Tatsu climbed his way onto another rooftop and found several more figures in black outfits waiting for him, swords in hand, so he rose his own sword and got into a stance "Alright come on guys, let's do this!" he charged into the fray and began attacking them left and right, either kicking them in the face and torso or using his sword to disarm them "Okay. who's next? Come on, I know you're out there. I've kind of got a feeling about these things, I can sense people when I can't see or hear them. Anyway show yourselves!"
Sure enough, several more black cloaked figures showed up in front of him, swords and spears in hand as rain began pouring down.
"...Me and my big mouth. Alight fun boys, come and get me!" and he charged head first into the fray.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
By this point, Arashi was doing dishes and tossing them to Akira to put into the cabinets "I think we're down to the last set!"
Akira kept catching them one by one "Got em, keep them coming."
Mai was mortified by the sight "No wait, don't!"
"One more Akira, up high!" Arashi threw another plate "It's going long!"
"Not the china!" this was met with a crash.
"...Oops."
Mai let out a sigh "Why should today be any different I wonder."
"Teenagers." was all Kazuma said without looking up from the newspaper.
"Oh yeah right."
"Sorry about that Mai." Arashi sounded somewhat sheepish "You got any glue?"
"Don't worry about it guys, I get that being teenagers means you've got… a lot of energy I think is the best way to put it. I mean you should've seen what Kazuma was like in high school, Hikarizaka was turned upside down." she watched him come over carrying pretty much every plate at once "So can I help you with that very delicate china that was given to me by my aunt?"
"Thanks but I've got it, just relax." he threw them all into the air, much to her horror, but he easily spread it out across the table, much to her relief "It's all about mad skill." and he started digging in.
Akira slowly started doing the same "Say what you like about Arashi, the guy has a talent for cooking."
"...Uh huh." Mai looked over at Kazuma "So one would think that with all of the time they've been training with Tatsu, table manners would've become a part of their training?"
"One would think." was all Kazuma said.
"Just checking. Anyway shouldn't Tatsu have been back by now? He did say he'd be back before breakfast."
"I wouldn't worry about that." Arashi waved her off "After all, out of the four of us Tatsu is the one guy that you never have to worry about."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
And now here's something to worry about:
Tatsu stood before a large crowd of black cloaked figures with his sword drawn "Come on guys, I'm down for round two!" he easily began disarming and knocking out the cloaked figures as they charged at him, taking a couple of pot shots along the way, leaving him with a number of bruises and panting heavily "Is that… Is that all you've got?" he looked up.
At least three more figures were glaring down at him from a rooftop higher up, only these were wearing blue martial arts uniforms and black masks, and they suddenly disappeared from his sight.
"...Me and my big mouth." he got into a stance 'I can still feel their presence though and I can hear their footsteps, so where are they?' he suddenly started taking random hits that he couldn't see and was quickly forced down onto one knee before being blown backwards across the rooftop 'Dammit, I'm not getting anywhere with these guys! Come on Tatsu think, if you don't find a way out of this they'll probably kill you… Wait, yeah that might work.' he pulled out a cloth from his pocket and tied it around his head, covering his eyes 'In battle you can't use just your eyes, you have to use all of your senses. There!' he kicked one in the torso, causing it to become visible again 'And there!' he slashed one down the chest and kicked the third one through mid air before dealing him a solid kick to the face, knocking him out cold "Well it's about time you guys took the hint. Now if you're done asking me to kick your asses I've gotta get home, I was supposed to be back before breakfast and that was like half an hour ago." and so he took off, with another mysterious figure watching him from the shadows.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The storm was growing heavier by the minute.
Raidou was in the middle of doing dishes, much to his annoyance "The things I do because of the people I hang out with."
"Hey man." Arashi poked his head out from around the corner "You need any help with those bad boys?"
"Keep him away from the dishes!" Kazuma called from the other room.
"Alright, I knew it would work."
'I know it's not just me and clearly that idiot is getting worse.' Raidou looked out at the storm raging outside.
"Man Tatsu has to be even more insane than we thought to be out in weather like this, and that's saying something."
"You know Tatsu and his training, nothing stops him." Kazuma told him "Still though I've just got a bad feeling about something. Call it a gut instinct but I'm going to go after him, with any luck the two of us will be back within an hour." and so he took off out the door, his mind racing 'I guess this is it, the time has come for me to tell him.'
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Tatsu stopped running and turned around "Let me guess, the minute I see you guys I'm supposed to be quaking in my boots. Isn't that right?"
Sure enough, before him appeared a figure in a black cloak that pulled down his hood, revealing a set of blue tinted sunglasses covering a set of hazel colored eyes, as well as a head of orange hair with a part of his hair resembling lion ears "So you noticed me and you managed to defeat my soldiers using slightly above average human abilities, you are impressive but mediocre skills like that will not be enough to save you from your fate Dragon Slayer. I am Leo the Lion of the great clan of demons known as the Zodiacs."
"You mean like the signs?"
"In a manner of speaking I suppose."
'This is just like that dream I've been having. And what do you want with me?"
"Tatsu Kamikaze, a 7th grade student at Hakuryu Junior High school, a certified genius and destined Dragon Slayer of Light. According to your records you are a 4th degree black belt, 3rd level kendo master with an IQ of 218."
"Enough with the flattery, what do you want with me?"
"It's not what I want with you, it's what I don't want. You see you hold a great power within you that our leader has deemed to be a threat to our goals, so I'm afraid you must be eliminated for the sake of our cause."
"Okay again with this Dragon Slayer stuff, what the hell are you going on about? I've never heard of anything like that in my life outside of anime."
"And with any luck you never will."
"We'll see about that!" Tatsu brought down his sword on Leo's arm, only for the blade to be shattered upon making contact, leaving him wide eyed in disbelief 'No way… how did he… how is that possible?'
"So even in the face of your death you choose to fight to the bitter end? I would expect nothing less, your father was the same way." Leo slugged Tatsu in the gut, causing him to cough up blood and collapse to his knees, and began slugging him across the face over and over, leaving his face swollen and bleeding.
"How… How do you know about my father… Who the hell are you?" he coughed up some blood and spat it in his face.
"Why don't you ask him yourself when you see him in the next world." Leo slowly advanced on him and charged what looked like an energy blast, only to suddenly find his hand fried, but rather than be shocked he smirked "So what do you know, looks like he's grown up a little bit and he's far more powerful now."
Tatsu looked around and felt a thick layer of pressure cover the area, followed by lightning flashing throughout the area "Oh great, just what I need."
"That's what I'm here for after all."
Tatsu looked back, still toppled over in pain, and his eyes widened "Ka… Kazuma?"
Sure enough, Kazuma made his way over to them clad in an electric blue martial arts gi, and he levelled a furious glare on Leo "I thought I made it clear the last time I saw you, you hurt my family again and I wouldn't show you any mercy."
'Kazuma… I've never seen him like this… So hardened, so battle ready… It's like he's a whole different person…'
"That's your last chance, I'm not letting you get away this time."
"Is that so?" Leo tossed away his cloak "I was the Lion, the most powerful of the 12 Zodiacs and now you're about to find out why. My power stuns the heavens themselves, I have no master for I have no equal. I am a servant to no one, least of all that pathetic dragon." a golden orange aura enveloped his body "I'll demolish you like I should've done years ago but after that I'll finish off that brat groveling on his knees over there!"
"Not on your life."
"You… can't scare… me…" Tatsu forced himself to his feet, using his broken sword as a sort of makeshift crutch "I'm not… gonna let you… force me down that easily!" he managed to work up the strength to charge forward, his body surrounded by a golden aura "I don't care what you are, I'll fight you to my last breath if I have to!" and he let a fist fly, scales suddenly growing out on his arm.
Leo managed to catch the fist, though he had to use both hands and even then he was sent skidding backwards a few feet "Well you've got the heart and the spirit of a true dragon I'll give you that much, but I don't have any business with you." and he grabbed Tatsu by the throat and threw him across the skies of Tokyo, sending him crashing into an abandoned warehouse about a block away.
"Tatsu!" now even more enraged, Kazuma took this chance to power up, an electric blue aura surrounding his body as his hair and eyes both turned blue, his body crackling with intense electricity and before anything else could be interpreted he was suddenly behind Leo, his hands covered in blood "It's over."
Leo suddenly fell to one knee, a deep gash across his shoulder "So it is, for now at least. I have to admit you're far stronger than you were the last time I saw you which was what, about 7 years ago? Oh yes, on that day."
"Watch what you say or next time my next attack won't be so shallow."
"Of that I have little doubt, but my work here is done. But know this, when I will return one of us will not survive our next encounter." and with that, he disappeared in an orange colored light, leaving Kazuma alone on the rooftop.
'One of us will not survive then, I can only agree.' and he raced off to find Tatsu and bring him home.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Tatsu slowly opened his eyes and sat up, and looked around as he found himself in a clearing in a forest, the skies clear and blue without a cloud in sight "What the hell… Where am I?"
"The land of the Draconian Ancestors." a large white dragon landed in front of him, its eyes showing a kind and gentle nature "What's the matter? You seem troubled… son." the dragon suddenly transformed, revealing a tall figure with brown hair, glasses and brown eyes, appearing similar to both Tatsu and Kazuma.
Tatsu immediately recognized the figure, and though remained quiet for a moment, he quickly embraced him, tears brimming from his eyes "Dad… it's really you…"
Sure enough, the figure was his father, Kuroga Kamikaze "Yes Tatsu, it's really me. I'm sorry your mother and I haven't been able to be there for you for so long. Now you have to learn about the burden that you bare, from Leo the Zodiac leader of all people."
"What burden, you mean that whole dragon thing that he was talking about? Dad I couldn't be more confused right now."
"...You're taking this better than I did. Sit down, we have a lot of things to talk about." so they sat down "Tatsu my son, it's time you know the true story of how this all began, of the history of our family, of an evil darker than all others in existence, of a primal force of evil that is the great Dragon of darkness… and of the great destiny that awaits you and your brother and the rest of your friends."
"What do you mean?"
"Thousands upon thousands of years ago, the human race was considered to be little more than food to the two dominant species, the demons and the dragons. The dragons the mountains and the skies, while the demons made the land and the seas their own. Their kinds ruled over every corner of the globe back then with powers that humans referred to as Draconic energy.. And then there was Kamikaze, the Dragon Slayer of Light, their leader and the most powerful Dragon Slayer of all, capable of using all 6 elemental powers."
"So then the others are-"
"Yes that's right. Arashi has inherited the power of the Fire Dragon Slayer, Raidou the Blizzard Dragon Slayer, Akira the Mountain Dragon Slayer, and your brother Kazuma the Lightning Dragon Slayer, which he inherited from your mother. With this new act the dragons had committed and with the new power the humans had at their disposal, mankind had joined the war in the final stand. "Yes I know, I'll get to that later. Anyway, the 12 Zodiacs were gone, leaving only Ragnarok standing against them and even then the victory seemed almost certain for the Dragon Slayers. But no one could have predicted what Ragnarok did next, or the travesty that would come to pass as a result. It was an utter massacre. With his newfound body and power, Ragnarok wielded power so terrible that he bathed the countryside in the blood of humans and dragons alike. The very mention of his name still haunts those who hear it. Knowing that this was far from an empty bluff, the Dragon Slayers made a pact with each other; Since their Draconian powers would be passed onto their descendents due to the Draconian energy fusing with their physical bodies and bloodstreams, they would train each generation in the arts of the Dragon Slayers, providing guidance through their chronicled exploits and experience, making sure that their descendents are ready for when the day of the final battle comes. But your generation is different. Before he passed, Kigen foretold that the seal on the Zodias would break when the time came for the generation that would fulfill the task to take up the mantle, which means that you have a lot of work ahead of you."
"...Okay hold on a second, this is a lot to take in. So you're telling me that me and my friends are supposed to have superpowers and you've got power over creation so you're basically a god of some king?"
"Essentially yes. I know I should've told you this when I was still alive but I had decided not to when you were born, your mother and I agreed that it was best if you didn't find out unless you had to so that you could have a normal childhood."
"Seriously?"
"We told Kazuma when he was 12 and look at how he turned out."
"...Yeah okay fair enough. So how do I learn these Draconian arts anyway?"
"Unfortunately our time here is limited, so I can't tell you everything that I want to. As for how you learn these techniques, your brother will get you started."
"I just have one more question."
"Which is?"
"How do I do this in the best way possible? I want to follow in your footsteps dad, I want to make you proud."
"...Well it won't be easy, that much I can tell you. You're going to struggle, so you need to surround yourself with people that you trust. You're a good young man with a good heart, and it's heart for a good man to do the right thing."

Hours passed.
Slowly, a heavily bandaged Tatsu opened his eyes and looked around "Where… Where the hell am I?"
"You're at home in your room."
Kenji looked over and saw Kazuma sitting by his bed "Where are Mai and the guys?"
"They're all downstairs, I wanted to talk to you about this is in private."
"If it's about all of the Dragon Slayer stuff you don't have to, dad told me in that Black Panther style dreamscape. So lightning powers huh? Arashi having fire kind of makes sense, the same with Raidou being ice. I don't really picture Akira as having iron though."
"Of course he did." Kazuma let out a sigh "Tatsu I'm sorry, I know I should've told you about all of this when you were the same age I was when I found out."
"Which was?"
"12. Anyway I wanted to tell you, I really did but he made me promise that I would never tell you about your Dragon Slayer powers until you were 18. Me, mom and dad agreed that it would be for the best. But either way you've been given this amazing gift, and it's up to you to decide what to do with it. I won't force you to do this if you don't want to."
"...You know to hear that I'm supposed to have a responsibility as huge as this is still really hard for me to wrap my head around, if I were anyone else then I'd probably think that you were totally insane."
"Fair enough."
"But if this is your legacy and you felt like it was important enough to pass onto me then for me to just up and push it aside like that just wouldn't be right. Besides, if these Zodiac guys are all as strong as Leo proved himself to be or maybe even stronger then I'll have to get a lot stronger than I am right now if it means that I can protect Kagome, not to mention the guys and everyone else."
"So does that mean you're in?"
"I just have one more question: When do we start?"
A/N:
This is my third attempt at creating an original plot for my story. My first attempt was back in February of 2018 while recycling the plot line from my first Inuyasha fic, which I got bored with after about 2 months. The second attempt involved me cutting out the Inuyasha portion entirely and just using Kagome, a fic that didn't even last a full month and only got out about 2 chapters.
So now here I am, going for a third attempt, which will be an eventual crossover with Fairy Tail and several other anime of my choosing. But for the time being it will be rewriting my Inuyasha fic that I did a little bit over a year ago, only my character will have different forms of Dragon Slayer powers. They're similar to the different forms Dragon Slayer magic seen in Fairy Tail, but with some noticeable case it wasn't clear it will feature Fire and Lightning, only there will be Tempest (Wind) in place of Sky, and instead of doing Earth and Water like I usually do, I'll be replacing them with Mountain (earth and metal, I'm calling it this I wasn't able to find a better name for it), and Blizzard (water and ice) respectively.
Like with my original Inuyasha story, this is an OC x Kagome pairing and maybe an OC x Sango pairing. I have nothing against Miroku but I feel like we could use a little bit more variety with Sango's pairings that don't involve outrageous levels of bashing.
Akira Konoe is loosely based on the character from the anime Ane Log, minus the incest, mainly the appearance. And maybe some references to the plot.
Mai Sakurajima is based around the character from the anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, only here she's Kazuma's love interest. I checked that anime out awhile back because I heard lots of positive things about it, and it's definitely up there with Clannad as one of the best high school-based romance anime I've ever seen. And for the record I'm not just using the character, I will be covering the plot of the actual anime in a later chapter.
The backstory for the origin of the Dragon Slayers and of Ragnarok is loosely based mostly on the history of the Dragon King Festival from Fairy Tail, as told by the spirit Zirconis, for the most part anyway but with my own original twists here and there.
In terms of appearance Leo of the Zodiacs is based on Loke from Fairy Tail, minus the badass looking suit. I was watching an episode of that Ultimate Spider Man cartoon (people who hate the show can choke on it) that featured Scorpio and his army of Zodiac, and I decided to make them a villainous faction in my story, with Leo being the first one to appear.
The part where Tatsu gets attacked by Leo and his men was inspired the Shredder Strikes, Part 1 from the 2003 TMNT series where Leonardo fights the Foot and Shredder. I figured it was probably the best way to introduce him to the powers of the Dragon Slayers.
I'm also breaking a rule that I like to keep for my fics by giving my OC's all different names, but I decided that Tatsu was the best name choice for someone with dragon powers, so I'm reusing the name of my OC from my Naruto fics.
I also don't intend to rush these chapters, especially since I'm working on two other fics in the form of An Underdog's Destiny and Dragon Ball Z: the Next Generation, so please be patient with updates.
Also, because I myself was having a hard time following who gets which elemental dragon powers, here's the list:
Arashi: Fire and Heat
Raidou: Water and Ice
? (revealed later): Wind
Akira: Earth and Metal
Kazuma: Lightning
Tatsu: All of them and others to be revealed later on
Power levels:
Tatsu: 75
Tatsu (dragon power, first tapped into): 300
Kazuma (heavily suppressed): 8,000
Leo (heavily suppressed): 7,500
