- the resolution does not necessarily need to be made, it can stay a failure
- it needs to be romantic
This is my first time doing this..so give me a break?)))
Hermione Granger,16, witch, desperatly trying to think of a new years resolution. Every year she did this, since she was six. Her mother and father thought it was hilarious that a six year old was trying to improve herself. Okay, it was a bit funny since her resolution that year was to stay awake until ten o'clock. This year was no different. She always had trouble trying to think of what to improve on. 'Come on, Granger. Think think.' she thought to herself, her quill loose in her hand. It was December 30th. She didnt have much time.
Ronald Weasley was another person who thought it was a great thing to laugh at; Hermione Granger, brightest in her year, couldnt think of one thing to improve on. "Youre perfect, Hermione. You dont need any improving!" Ron said loudly and raised his arms in the air. She gave him one of her patented 'Dont Start With Me' glares and continued to stare at her empty parchment. That was two hours ago. The fire started to die down and most of the students went to bed.
A cough startled her out of her day dreaming, or shall we just say dreaming? Looking up, she stared into bright green eyes, glowing with amusement. "Hermione, Ron is right. You dont need anything to improve on. Youre perfect." Harry Potters' voice was soft as he stared down at his best friend. This only frustrated her more, there HAD TO BE SOMETHING! "Harry, please, help?", she pleaded, "There has to be..something! Anything!" Laughter rang throughout the common room. "Harry!" Her eyes burned, "This isnt funny!"
Gasping for breath, Harry answered," Im sorry Hermione..But there isnt.Wait.There is!"
Hermione looked up and asked,"What!" She felt so excited that there just might be something to improve upon.
Harry looked at her, all serious. "You should marry me."
The confused look he recieved made him laugh again. The hit on the arm he got for his troubles made him stop laughing.
"Im sorry!" he said, laughter still in his voice.
Hermione wasnt amused at all, "Harry.."
Shaking his head, Harry just said "Really? You just need to ease up a bit. I think thats all."
Her chocolate eyes stared into his, and Harry felt his heart racing. 'Shes your friend. Shes your friend. Shes your friend!' he thought furiously. "Well..alright." she replied and grabbed her quill to write down on the parchment. "Harry?" she called and he looked at her," You know what else?" Harry shook his head, hopefully thinking that it would rid his thoughts of Hermione, which seemed impossible now. She stood and walked a bit closer to him. Leaning slightly forward, their lips touch. A shock of electricty seemed to run through both of them. "I should kiss Harry Potter." she smiled and walked up the staircase to the girls' dorm. Whispering as to not wake the others she called, "Happy New Years, Harry."
Standing still, believing that this was all a dream Harry replied,"Its not New Years yet, Hermione." Making his way up to the boys' dorms Harry Potter decided that Not Quite New Years Yet was his favorite holiday.
((Im sorry if it doesnt make sense..I just wanted to try this out..if you like it..go ahead and review..if you dont..go ahead and review.heh.))
