AN: I've wanted to do this idea for a long time, so hopefully it's good. Please tell me what you think.

"Sesshoumaru, I wanna play!" said the voice of a little girl not much older than four.

"You do?" Sesshoumaru teasingly asked his little sister. She nodded her head and squealed as Sesshoumaru threw her into the air. Inuyasha caught his hanyou sister and gave his brother a disapproving look. Sesshoumaru simply smiled back as Inuyasha put her on the ground.

"Again!" the little girl screamed. Sesshoumaru brought his hands to his ears while Inuyasha flatted his to his head. "Ow," the girl said dizzily while she rubbed her own dog like ears.

"Sakura," a calm, cool tone came from behind the group. They turned to see a dog demon and a human woman.

"Daddy! Mommy!" Sakura shouted. Inutaishou opened his arms for his daughter. Her mother smiled at her youngest child.

"Daddy, can Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha take me to the flower fields to play?" Sakura asked.

"Yes. Inuyasha watch her carefully," his mother told him.

"Yes Mother." He followed after his siblings.

Sakura ran through the fields picking flowers for her mother. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru watched.

"She looks nice in the kimono you gave her. She told me that she loves it," Inuyasha told Sesshoumaru.

"I thought she would like the golden trim," Sesshoumaru said.

"It matches her eyes," Inuyasha added.

The little girl's eyes were golden like the rest of the males in her family. She also had their sharp nails. Her black hair was from her mother. She looked human except for the black ears on the top of her head and her eyes. Her mother had always pulled her hair back into a high pony tail.

Sakura screamed. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru rushed over to her.

"It hurts!" she wailed. Sesshoumaru laughed at her whining. She had cut herself with her own nails. Inuyasha also laughed. He picked her up and kissed the small scratch on her arm.

"We told you to be careful with your nails," Sesshoumaru said as Inuyasha handed her to him. He also kissed the small wound and began to tickle her. She tried not to laugh but without success.

Inuyasha picked up the flowers she had dropped and handed them to her. She smiled at him. "I love you guys," she said.

Sesshoumaru walked out of Sakura's bedroom after putting her to bed. He loved his sister, even though she was half human. He didn't like the fact that his father had chosen a human mate but there was nothing he could do about it. His own mother was dead.

He realized that Sakura was the only thing that kept him and Inuyasha close. They both loved her and would do anything to see that she wasn't hurt physically or emotionally. Their bond was based on her. They got along alright, but Sesshoumaru's feelings towards humans kept them from being truly close. He felt like his father loved Inuyasha more because he was the son of his human mate. Sesshoumaru never understood that his father loved him very much and he always thought about his mother. It pained Inutaishou to look at his oldest son because he reminded him of his first love.

Every once and a while it bothered Sesshoumaru that she was a hanyou. But then she would smile and he would forget all his worries and troubles. She made him see that humans weren't as bad as he thought. Though he never cared to admit it. In a way she made him feel like everything was always okay. But it wasn't. It hurt him, his father choosing a human, but if he hadn't Sakura wouldn't be there.

Inuyasha walked out of his room suddenly thirsty. He ran into Sesshoumaru who was lost in his thoughts.

"Sorry Sesshoumaru," Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha why don't we ever talk?" Sesshoumaru asked. The question startled Inuyasha.

"I'm not sure," Inuyasha answered truthfully.

"I think we should," Sesshoumaru said before disappearing around a corner. Inuyasha shrugged and continued his walk to get himself some water.
