"Please, Frank?" Senior Detective Rachel Goldstein looked over at her colleague, smiling her sweetest smile.
"No, Rachel," Senior Detective Frank Holloway replied firmly.
"Please?" Rachel asked again in a soft voice, as she flashed her eyes at him.
"I said no!" Frank replied just as firmly as before, looking her straight back in the eyes.
"Oh, come on, Frank. Just this once?" Rachel said, sending him a begging glance. Normally she would never beg anyone for anything, but it was different with Frank. And she needed this. She watched him lean back in the chair and put his arms behind his head. She could see his muscles even through his long-sleeved shirt, and she felt her lips getting dry. Slowly she put out her tongue and licked her lips gently. Oh, she needed this.
"No way, Rachel. It's not gonna happen," Frank said, in a milder voice this time. He felt his face getting warm as he followed Rachel's every move with her tongue. He wanted this too, but he just couldn't give in to her. It wouldn't be right. The blood was streaming to his head when Rachel leant forward over her desk. Oh, he wanted this.
"Frank…" Rachel muttered softly. Her upper body was practically laying over her desk, as she tried to get as close to Frank as she could without having to rise from her chair. He was about to give in, she could sense it. She just had to make the final move, and he would surrender. He had better, because she couldn't wait much longer.
"Yes…?" Frank replied, almost in a whisper. His eyes were still on Rachel's lips, and his throat was dry as a desert. He would give in every moment now. She would just have to snap her fingers, and he would be lost. He knew it. He hated it, but he knew it. And he couldn't wait for much longer anyway.
"Just do it, Frank!" Rachel said the words within a second, just as she looked him straight in the eyes. She smiled satisfied when she saw him give up. She knew she had won. She knew he hated it, but she had won. She leant back in her chair, awaiting his reaction.
"All right," Frank sighed. He was beaten. Defences broken. With just a snap of her fingers, he was in her power. He couldn't understand how she did it. All he knew was that she had won. "I'll go get us that coffee then."
