M'kay, here's the deal. I'm trying to broaden my speculations by posting at least one one-shot for each movie/book/TV Show/etc. that I have come across. So… Here's Twilight. :)

She says, "You know I love you, but I'll never love you the way you want me to love you."
He says, "I know."
She tells him to move on. Because, instead of focusing on her, he should be out doing greater things. He has the capability of doing so anyhow. If he wanted to, he could do everything he dreamed of and more. But he doesn't.
She keeps him there.
Grounded.
Because when you find the one person that you'll love unconditionally, you never let go. No matter how hard it is.
She's already gone. Making her way in the world.
Without you.
And she warned you. She warned you not to fall in love with her. Because she'll never be able to love you back. It's always just friends.
He says, "Friendship is better than nothing."
And then he's falling. Deeper and deeper. Whether he's falling in love or out of it. Or perhaps into friendship or nostalgia. He can't tell the difference. But he's still falling. Further and further away.
