~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Bruce banner and Hermione Granger had a child, no one knew what to expect; maybe little bushy haired, brilliant girls, tinted green? Or brown haired, genius, easily angered wizard sons?
When it was released that they were to receive a beautiful little girl that coming fall, there was a lot of commotion and assumptions towards what would happen.
Bruce was especially unhappy about the prospect of children. Not because he didn't want them, or- god forbid- he didn't love Hermione, no, it was because he was scared. Despite being the Hulk, one of the strongest, biggest creatures in the universe, he was still very scared.
Scared of disappointing his wife, Hermione. Scared of disappointing his team, the Avengers; But most of all, scared of disappointing that little girl. He had no idea what type of father he would be; good, bad, harsh or nice. And it was the unknown that frightened him the most.
Bruce had, of course tried to get the child aborted, in fear of having it hurt Hermione, but she wouldn't stand for it.
His plea to rid herself of the child allowed one of the largest fights ever to occur between them.
Furniture was thrown, insults hurtled and voices going hoarse from yelling.
It was 9 days after sleeping on the coach, and having the silent treatment from his wife that Bruce gave in.
On the ninth night after turning over again and again on the uncomfortable couch (which Bruce was sure Hermione had spelled to be more uncomfortable than usual) did he trudge into their bedroom, and see Hermione under the covers, rolling over in her sleep and reaching for the presence on the other side of the bed that wasn't there. After not much consideration, Bruce gave in and sliped under the covers, cuddling her as if it was the last time he would touch her.
Only when he woke up, cupping the tiny but visible bump on her stomach did he realize that the fight was useless. He should have known his wife would be head strong about the subject.
When the abortion plan didn't work, Bruce threw himself into reading; reading about pregnancy, delivery, and babies. He read about everything possible, children of all ages starting with the infant books, going right up to kids in their teen years, - especially lingering onto the 'terrible two' stage. Even Hermione was shocked by how attentive Bruce got during her pregnancy, positively waiting on her hand and foot.
So when Natalia Lettie Banner was born, all the guesses and thoughts where proven wrong. No one thought that the chocolate haired, pale skinned girl would come out looking so human. Almost everyone assumed that it would look like a minutiae female hulk.
It was when Natalia was 5 that it first happened. When being denied ice-cream before dinner, she crossed her arms over her chest, stamped her foot and got red in the face.
Except, for the first time, Hermione could see a very noticeable green tint towards her skin.
