Author's note

Rated T for Yata's vocabulary~
I didn't really want to write a story about them being lovers of some kind this time, so I went with the friendship theme (and how jealous Fushimi is of Yata's idol :D /shot)

Anyways, hope y'all enjoy it

YOU LOSE

The big, red letters danced across the screen, as if they were trying to irk him on purpose. The expression on Fushimi's face remained indifferent as Yata started laughing.

"If that's everything you can do, Saru, then you really suck at this game." he stated bluntly, giving the taller male a cheeky grin. "Next time, don't be an idiot and follow my instructions-" A pillow collided with his face. "If I had followed your instructions, I would've died in two seconds." Fushimi replied, huffing. "That doesn't give you a reason to throw a fucking pillow into my face! Sheesh... What's in it anyways, a brick?" Yata violently threw the pillow through the room, glaring at his companion. "You're overreacting again, as always. What kind of idiot would sleep with a brick under their head?" "I'm just saying that either you're good at throwing shit at me or the pillow is shaped in a weirdass manner!"

Fushimi sighed and rubbed his temples. "Anyway, let's forget about this and do something else-" A phone rang in the distance. "That's yours. Some idiot threw my phone in the toilet yesterday." Fushimi said, waving it off like it was nothing. Yata scoffed and picked up his phone, looking at the message he had gotten. The expression on his face changed instantly, and the megane frowned at his wide smile.

"What is it?" "Kusanagi-san asks us to hang out at the bar today~!" The redhead shoved the phone into his friend's face. Fushimi backed away in disgust. "I got it already, you don't have to make me kiss it." he protested, pushing his hand away. "And? Are we supposed to go there and hang out with them?" "Of course! I bet Mikoto-san will be there, too! By the way, did you see how he dealed with those gangsters last time? They didn't even know what hit them once they discovered he was the Red King, haha! Their expressions were priceless! Also, Mikoto-san is really.."

And there you had it. The reason why Fushimi preferred to stay away from HOMRA. Everytime it was mentioned, everytime /Mikoto/ was mentioned, he started fawning over that stupid, thuggish, intimidating King of his. If it wasn't for his friend, Fushimi never would've joined. Yata always dragged him into everything, and this wasn't any different.

"I don't need to know his whole biography. Let's just head out and go to the darn bar." he said after some time, cutting Yata off. The latter frowned. "What's wrong, Saru?" he asked. "You've been acting really weird lately..." "It's nothing. I'm still the same as before." Saruhiko replied. "So, what are you waiting for? We have to meet up with HOMRA, remember?" Yata hesitated for a moment, but then he smiled once again, a small blush of excitement covering his cheeks. "Okay!"

Saruhiko knew from that moment that he had lost. Winning wasn't possible anymore, unless he gave in and started worshipping Mikoto too. But that was the last thing he would do. Yata's hatred, his intense, passionate hatred, was what he wanted now. Whatever chance to get his attention, he would grab it. Whenever Yata glared at him, whenever he started cussing at him, whenever he shouted at him for being such a 'bullshit sprouting traitor', he was still not satisfied. He wanted proof, something that made it clear that Yata hated him. But more than that, he wanted Yata to understand what he truly felt and thought.

Because he still loved him above all else.
