A/N: haven't read the book in a while but this came to mind and I just had to write it. Remy's POV

You Love Me!
I stared at Dexter as he smiled at me as I unloaded the groceries. I kept picking up what I pulled out of the bags and then putting it right back down where he had picked up from. And I had asked him to help me put it away. Because Dex is just that helpful.
"You bought me more plastic ware," he said, his voice holding a slight soft squeal to it as if the joy just bubbled out of him. "You love me, Remy. You really love me."
"Dex, I bought you Snickers."
"You love me." That smile crept across his face and I saw him look down and put his guitar against the countertop so that it leaned against the chair so not to break the neck.
"So whenever I buy you something, you just assume that I love you?" I asked, putting one hand on my hip and giving him a signature are-you-really-that-stupid? stare. I saw the grin sweep across his face again. "I mean, can't I just love you without buying you things?"
"Did you buy Cocoa Mint ice cream?" he asked, giving me an interrogating look that read my eyes easier than an open book. His hair was a mess and I loved it.
"Of course," I said, "but you're not allowed to talk until all this stuff is put away, got it?"
His gaze turned to a glare and then he grabbed the ice cream, turned around to open the freezer door, opened it, shoved the ice cream in, shut it, and turned back to me with a wicked grin. "All the Cocoa Mint ice cream has been put away," he said, clearly fighting back a snicker.
I wanted to hit him, but I didn't have the energy to. I gave him a playful glare before shoving another carton of the ice cream right back to him. "Quiet until this one is away, Dexter."
He gave his quirky smirk and shoved it in the freezer right next to the one he had put in moments ago. Dex looked back at me. "Hey, I love you, Remy. Even though I don't buy you things all the time."
I couldn't help the smile that overwhelmed my features. I looked up at him and his eyes were glittering with the true love that only existed in fairytales. He reached over and brushed a few strands of my hair away from my face. "Don't forget that, Remy. Please don't forget it."
"So if I bought you broccoli," I began, "would you still think I loved you?"
He seemed to contemplate it and I found the energy to slug his shoulder. "Dexter!"
He laughed and picked up his guitar by the neck before leaning in and kissing me softly upon my lips, the passion that flooded between us unforgettable and everlasting. "Rem, I'd rather not answer that one," he said as we broke apart. Then he left the room, already knowing I was going to come after him for a massive number of reasons; a good majority of them involved me proving a point.
