Ok here's my new story- hope you like it :). The story is instead of Chronicles Of Riddick. It's sort of AU ish.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.
It had been five years since Riddick had last set eyes on Jack, five years. He had turned up at the house of the holy man to receive the unwelcome news that Jack had run away shortly after his departure. Not knowing what to do, he left and tried to forget about Jack. He had gotten a new identity and even a legitimate job as a mechanic, in the hope that maybe he could move on and have a normal life.
Today was just a normal day at the garage. Riddick bent over the hood of the bright orange car he was working on and for the first time in a long time wondered what his life could have been like had he never crashed on that godforsaken planet all those years ago. He was dimly aware of someone talking to him.
"What?"
"Can you pass me that wrench Rick?"
"Oh um yeah, sure." Riddick grunted in response and shuffled over to where Mark was standing, handing him the wrench.
"Thanks. Hey, Rick, you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Okay."
They went back to work, both quietly contemplating. Then Mark spoke up.
"You know what day it is today?"
"No. Why?"
"It's the first of January. Means we need to get a new calendar." He said, gesturing over to the old calendar which was still displaying December.
"Yeah, I guess so." Replied Riddick, not really seeing the point in this conversation and wishing that the day would end so that he could go home to bed.
Half an hour later, Riddick and Mark were still both quietly working under the hoods of their respective cars when Mark straightened up and stretched his aching back.
"Rick I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat. You want anything?"
"Nah, I'm fine."
"Okay. I'll be back in a few."
Riddick grumbled in response then sat down with a sigh of relief as soon as he heard the door shut. He liked having a normal job and he didn't mind Mark that much but sometimes the pointless conversation got too much and today everything seemed to be getting to him. He went into the small bathroom and washed his hands to rid them of the grease and oil then sat by his car, thinking about how he was going to last the next three hours before he got to go home. He was shaken out of his reverie when he heard the door to the garage open again.
"Back already?" Riddick mumbled to himself.
"Yo Rick! Look what I got when I was out!" Said Mark, holding up a new calendar.
"That's great Mark." Riddick replied as Mark moved over to the wall to replace the old calendar.
"Woah, you should look at Ms. January Rick, she's a beauty!"
Riddick moved over to the calendar and his mouth fell open, his stomach was suddenly residing somewhere in his shoes.
"What? You like her?"
"No Mark. I know her!"
"Who is she?"
"Jack."
Wooo! First chapter is done- its mainly setting the scene and more excitement will follow shortly. Review please :
