The sound of Jon's alarm woke him with a start, he was having the strangest dream, he it quickly left his mind as he heard his mother yelling for him to get up. Lois popped her head into his room, "are you getting up or not sweetie?! Your hair looks like a rats nest." It Was true, of course, Jon had the worst bed head, Damian always made fun of it when he would wake him for late night patrols. "Maybe it's a Kryptonian thing,", she said as she walked into the kitchen, "your father is exactly the same." He rolled his eyes and quickly found a brush before any more teasing ensued. He did his usual morning routine and got ready for school, but somehow he had an eerie feeling about today. He sat down at the table and grabbed a box of cereal. The box read, sugar flakes! Lois snatched it from his hands, "you are not eating those young man, the'll rot your teeth out.", she said examining the ingredient list. "See! Number two ingredient, sugar!", she said pointing to the list. "Well what else am I going to eat?", Jon asked in an annoyed tone. "Here", lois answered, setting down a bowl of cereal. "Great", Jon responded sarcastically. He finished up quickly and grabbed his backpack, heading for the door. "WAIT!", Lois yelled. "I love you, have a great day at school sweetie, remember you have your little club with Damian today." "it's not a club Mom! They're super secret missions that only us elite heroes can handle", he said, half joking, half serious. "Alright, whatever, Love you", she said kissing him on the cheek. He sighed, "love you too Mom, bye", he said pulling the door open and waving. He bolted down the steps, allowing himself the use of his powers while no one was looking, of course someone was. "You really shouldn't do that you know, someone might see, and you wouldn't want to get in trouble with Mommy would you?", Jon looked up to see Damian Dangling on the fire escape above him. "Ha Ha very funny Damian", Jon rolled his eyes, though he was glad Damian was there, he'd lived in metropolis for about a year now, though he still didn't feel exactly comfortable walking the streets alone. Damian hopped down beside him, giving him a little wink. "Oh well, I guess some people just can't accept true comedy", he sneered. "You're one to talk", Jon snapped. "I thought you were Mr. Serious", Jon answered. "Well, I guess you've just been a good influence on me.", It wasn't a lie, Damon had been so solemn before he met Jon. Though it was still rare for him to joke around like this. Damian smiled at Jon, his eyes lingering on his own. "Alright stop it your freaking me out, who are you and what have you done with Damian!", Jon laughed. "I guess you're right, Don't want to arouse any unwanted attention.", Damian said. "Now, there's the Damian I know", Jon replied.
